After spending time with Mr. Tumnus and consoling him for a bit, Esther decided to go back home to her father. She bade her Faun friend good-bye and wished him safety as she walked out of his house. She rode Snowflake all the way back to Aslan's Camp and arrived there late night. Esther dismounted her horse and took her back to the stables along with the other horses. She sighed as she went to Aslan. "Father?" She called to him.

"Oh." Aslan turned to his daughter. "What took you so long, my dear child?"

"I saw a Daughter of Eve!" Esther said. "And I met my friend, Mr. Tumnus." Aslan smiled. "Good, right on time." He said. "And How is he?"

"He seemed alright." She sighed. "I mean...he felt awful about attempting to abduct Lucy to her...my mother." Esther hung her head down, thinking everything was her fault. "Father? Why did mother turn evil?" Esther asked Aslan suddenly. Her father sighed. "It started when you were a baby..."

"How did it happen?" Esther asked for more information.

"Well, Jadis knew you were going to be powerful, making her want more power." Aslan answered.

"So she was scared...scared of me?" Esther raised one of her eyebrows. Aslan nodded. Esther felt worst. "Oh dear...How could she gave me away?" She said, as her heart was about to break. "How could she do this to me, father?" Aslan sighed. "My child, it is not your fault." He consoled his daughter.

Esther sat on the snowy ground, wrapped her arms around her legs and cried silently. Aslan sighed and snuggled close to his daughter. Esther accepted and wrapped her arms around her father. She buried her face in his mane, soaking them with her tears. After a while, Esther became tired.

"Get some rest, my dear one." Aslan said. Esther pulled away from the lion with her now tear stained face. She noticed that the part of his mane was wet from her tears.  "I'm sorry, father." Esther choked out. Aslan gave a soft smile. "It's alright." He reassured. Esther smiled slightly and kissed her father's mane. She went back inside the tent and laid on her bed. She looked at her heart-shaped necklace to see Lucy talking to her siblings and friend.

"I'll see you all soon." Esther smiled, and she fell into a sweet sleep, as she couldn't wait to meet the rest of the other children.
