Chapter 39

"Tommy... I thought you were dead." Tubbo jumps down from the roof, staring at his best friend in disbelief. I smile to myself for a moment before my brother looks at me.

"Y/N!"

He rushes over to me and grips me in a tight hug. I nearly fall over from the impact of him running at me. When he pulls away, he looks between Tubbo and I.

"What happened to your face?" Tommy points to the bandage on the side of my face and I look away.

"Oh, it was just a little... accident." But it's fine."

"Where were you?" Tommy asks Tubbo and I. He's probably pissed that we didn't find him sooner.

"Here. In L'manburg." Tubbo answers and I nod with a small but visible smile. However, my smile instantly fades when I see a face I didn't want to see.

"What the fuck are you doing here Technoblade? You have no right to be here after the shit you pulled." I draw out my netherite sword but Techno just laughs.

"I see you have a bit of an injury Y/N." He gestures to my face and I scowl at him. Pointing my sword at him.

"How dare you. How fucking dare you come back here!" I try to run over to him but Tommy stands in the way.

"Relax. I'm just here to get some of my stuff back." He calmly says. Of course he has the cheek to come back and ask for stuff.

"Why do you have Connor?" I question, seeing him being held hostage. I've never really spoken to Connor but I've seen him a few times.

"I'm using him as leverage. I'll give you Connor if you give me my stuff."

Wow. So he's really playing this game huh?

"And you still have my disk." Tommy adds, looking at Tubbo. The president looks taken back for a moment.

"If you don't give us back our things, we're going to kill him." Tommy refers to Connor who looks scared out of his mind.

"Wait so, you're with Technoblade?" Tubbo asks. Tommy and Techno look at each other then begin mumbling out words.

"It's a temporary team up, yeah." Techno states and I fold my arms, shaking my head at Tommy.

"Yeah I am." Tommy says in an almost proud manner.

"Mutual interests and all."

Tubbo looks guilty for what he did to Tommy and yeah I'll be the first to admit, throwing him into exile was wrong but now he's teaming with the enemy.

"Because you exiled me Tubbo. You left me absolutely no choice." Tommy's words hit like a million knives at once.

Everyone goes quiet as Tommy begins talking again.

"Neither of you came to see me while I was in exile." Tommy breaks the silence.

"That's because we couldn't. We had no choice. If we were caught, Dream would have killed us!" I exclaim but my brother still doesn't listen. I wish Wilbur was here. He would have known what to do.

"You didn't come to my party. Nobody did except Dream." He fires back and Tubbo gains a slightly frustrated expression.

"That's because you didn't invite us!"

"Look it doesn't matter okay? You're here now and you're alive which is all that counts." I step in the argument.

"Just give me back my things. I want my trident and then I'll let Connor go." Techno tells us and I let out a sarcastic laugh.

"You're not getting you're things back after what you've done Technoblade." I say which causes Tommy to look a bit confused.

"Didn't you try to execute him?" He asks. Tubbo and I look at each other before he speaks up.

"No...?" Tubbo replies but it comes out more like a question.

"Fuck it... yes! I mean, it was mainly Quackity and I but he had it coming!" I shout and Tommy looks slightly angry.

"Why would you tr-"

I rip off the bandage from the side of my face, revealing a still slightly bloodied wound covering half of my face. It hasn't healed yet so it's not fully a scar.

"This is why Tommy! And it's not just me who he did this to Tommy. He hurt the guy I love. He threatened Quackity and I won't stand for it. He left us both with battle scars!"

Tommy looks taken back and runs a hand through his hair, stressed. He refuses to say anything so instead, I look towards Techno who tries to keep a blank expression.

"Look at what you did Techno. This was all your fault. You're the only one to blame for all you're mistakes. All the pain you caused. You only ever want to be on the winning team. And you're always willing to sacrifice friends and family to get you're own way." I push Techno backwards but he still remains blank faced.

"He's your family Y/N..." Tommy says in a barely audible whisper but I laugh and shake my head.

"He's not my family."

I turn away, leaving Tubbo to deal with the situation. I walk up the large hill where Quackity and I spent time together where we'd watch the sunset over the docks.

"Oh hello Y/N!" An echoing voice happily says behind me. I turn to see Ghostbur floating next to me, holding out the familiar rock which I gladly take.

"Have some blue Y/N. It will make you feel better." He softly smiles and I hold the rock in my hand. I clutch it in my hand, trying to push all the pain away.

Honestly, I wish I could just go back to being with Wilbur at that train station in between the afterlife and death. It seems peaceful there.

"Do you need anything? Do you want me to get Quackity? Or Niki! Do you want me to get Niki?" Ghostbur asks with his beaming personality. I shake my head and stare at the sunset.

"No thanks Ghostbur. I think I just need some time to think."

"Okay. I'll see you later Y/N!" He floats away and I'm once again left alone with my thoughts.

I swear, one day I'm going to make a new country. A place where I can be with Quackity, away from all the conflict and pain.

I swear to you Wilbur. I'll make you proud.
