Chapter 11
At Club Enchaines
Devon
Ever since Elijah turned down his invitation, he had been in a sour mood. Everything he saw irritated the hell out of him. No amount of justification could lift the disappointment and dejection off his shoulders.
He ran his fingers through his hair in a frustrated motion, then leaned against his chair, grabbed his glass full of whiskey, and downed it in one go. He welcomed the burning feeling of alcohol in his throat. He kept questioning himself why he was still unable to get over that single rejection.
You like the boy, that's why, a part of him nagged.
Like? That's too soon for that. Yes, Elijah's baby blues haunted his every waking moment. Sometimes, those innocent ocean eyes would cause him to wake up in ungodly hours, his heart longing to touch the owner instead. There were times where he would find himself outside of Bar Enchaines, longingly staring at the boy, as he served customers in the bar.
Earlier, Trevor and Isaac kept on teasing him when his tongue slipped. He just ignored them and preferred to zip his mouth. It was quite an admirable feat, considering Trevor's persistence and Isaac's stubbornness. Fortunately for him, Stefan did not join the teasing club because he was busy with Oliver, his new, and from the way their friend looks at the boy, definitely the last, little.
Okay, so he was very far off the target when he assumed that Elijah caught Stefan's interest. In his own unbiased opinion, Elijah is absolutely gorgeous and a head-turner. To the point where it gets him so annoyed, resulting in throwing deadly glares at the people who dared show an interest in Elijah, and he does it so smoothly.
No one is allowed to touch and stare at Elijah. Not even a glance.
Why is he even so protective and possessive over the boy? He swore never to let innocent boys ruin his life. He's had enough with Jamie. People deceive and cheat on you. That's the fucking reality. He shouldn't even be thinking about liking Elijah, because clearly, he does not.
He's just afraid that his grandparents will throw him back to the family. So no, he definitely hates Elijah. No, scratch that. He has neutral feelings for the boy.
He groaned and poured another shot of whiskey on his glass. What made him more stressful than necessary was Mina bringing Elijah here to the club. Not only was he feeling that something bad will happen, but his grandparents will also haul him back to Italy once they found out that Elijah already knows what BDSM is.
He almost threw Mina to the South Pole when he found out that not only did she tell Elijah that she was a secret agent, she also gave Elijah a briefer on BDSM 101. That woman is so troublesome. Moreover, that same woman was living with Elijah and the latter on his way to the bar counter.
When Mina called yesterday that Elijah will be coming with her, he almost bashed the head of his sparring partner on the ground. He was so livid that Trevor had to snap him out of it; through five hours of sparring, leaving him badly bruised.
Only that, Trevor did it in places people may not be able to see unless he took off his shirt.
Still, that sparring was helpful in relieving tension, so he was thankful in some way.
Through the heavily tinted glass wall in his office which is located on the second floor of the club, he almost choked on his drink when he saw Elijah's glorious beauty in tight leather shorts and sheer white shirt. He had to stop himself from scooping the eyes of the men and women who dared steal a glance on the boy.
