Chapter 32

A few months later,

September 17
Six in the morning
Devon's Estate, Italy

Dear Ryzie,

I hope this letter finds you in good health. Saying I miss you is an understatement. We all miss you. I long for you every single day, and I hope that you're not in a bad place.

Today is my 18th birthday, and I really wish you're here with us to celebrate it. Still, all I pray for is your safety and well-being. I hope to see you soon, Ryzel.

Your loving cousin,

Elijah.

Elijah took a deep breath and put his handwritten letter inside a customized envelope. He brought the letter close to his heart and cracked a small smile. "I love you so much, Ryzel."

It has been a few months since Ryzel disappeared. You can't find someone who doesn't want to be found, so we let him be. Elijah was hurt, but somehow, he understood. Elijah understood why Ryzel had to run away. If Elijah was placed in the same position as Ryzel, he would also do the same.

So many things have happened and it must have taken a toll on Ryzel; physically and emotionally. Trevor and Jesse helped with the search for the first two months, but oddly enough, Trevor commanded to stop the search. According to Trevor, there's a reason why Ryzel disappeared, and Ryzel's disappearance would be in vain if they didn't leave him alone. Trevor assured Devon and Elijah that Ryzel is safe, but Trevor never shared any more information.

Everyone may seem to have moved on with their lives, but there's someone who's still stuck in the past: Blue Winters. When Blue woke up to find Ryzel gone, he was beyond devastated. He was confused, frantic, and furious. After everything that Blue and Ryzel went through, Blue was expecting that Ryzel will not do an unfair move like this.

Blue felt so betrayed and angry. He didn't want to see anyone. His temper became short and explosive. The members of his squad all agree that their captain's personality turned 180. Gone was the patient, logical and rational Blue Winters. What's left was a seething shell full of anger and hate.

When Ryzel left Blue, everything turned upside down. Blue became uncontrollable and reckless. Most of the time, Blue accepts life-threatening missions and no one can stop him. Only Trevor can knock some sense into Blue's head, but that would only last for a few days.

Rage and heartbreak consumed him that he became a regular at Bar Enchaines. Men and women approached Blue, and Blue had every opportunity to get laid and prove to Ryzel that Ryzel was not a loss, but Blue would just be kidding himself. Ryzel took a large piece of Blue, and that hollow part in his heart would remain void.

The fact that Blue was not entertaining one-night stands was what others admired him for. Even if Blue kept on asserting that he doesn't love Ryzel anymore and loathes the lavender-eyed man to the bones, Blue's heart, mind, and body are not convinced. Every fiber of Blue is yearning for Ryzel despite Blue's hatred towards the man who kept breaking his heart.

A knock on his door dragged Elijah from his reverie. "Sunshine, can I come in?"

"Sure!" Elijah used a seal to enclose the envelope and placed it on top of his desk. When Devon entered, Elijah grinned and jumped into Devon's arms with a giggle.
