Chapter 30

Safely buckled in his seat, Elijah couldn't contain the jitters his body was exhibiting. Earlier, Elijah thought that it was going to be his usual day. Wake up, cry, write, eat a little, sleep, wake up, cry again, watch Devon's videos, and repeat. Elijah's appetite is yet to return, and as days go by, Elijah continuously loses weight.

Even Jin and Yohan were surprised to see Elijah. The latest picture they had of the boy was from two weeks ago, so seeing Elijah in an unhealthy form worried the two, and they immediately contacted Jesse. Instead of keeping the surprise from Elijah as well, Jesse decided to let the cat out of the bag.

Everyone thought that Elijah would jump in joy, but Elijah just stayed still, blinked a few times, then nodded. Elijah gave his thanks and went back to his room. When Elijah finally reached the safety and privacy of his bedroom, there came the waterworks. It was an overwhelming surge of emotions that all Elijah could do was cry brokenly and silently.

There was longing, anxiety, and excitement, but what stood out was elation. Finally... he's going to see Devon again. Two weeks was too long to be apart from the man Elijah considers his home. Two weeks was long enough for Elijah to suffer and confirm how Devon really means to him. In those two weeks, all Elijah could do was miss Devon and yearn for the man. Elijah would give anything just to be able to see Devon again.

Elijah only packed a few pairs of clothes, stuffed his pills and journal inside his bag, and got Devon his own pairs of clothes too. Amanda and Robert decided to stay in the safe house because they trust Jin and Yohan to bring Elijah to Romania safely.

Elijah was so excited earlier, but now that the thrill waned, all that's left is the queasy feeling from anxiety and his nerves. It feels as if Elijah's insides are twisted into knots and he could feel himself puking from too much nervousness. He feels so nervous at the thought of meeting Devon, and Elijah doesn't understand why.

Yohan, who was sitting in front of Elijah, noticed how the boy kept on shifting on his seat, clearly uncomfortable. "Eli, are you okay? Do you hate flying?"

Elijah blinked and shook his head. "I'm so nervous. I'm going to see Dev again. Why?"

Yohan closed his laptop and gave his full attention to Elijah. "Rather than nervousness, think of it as excitement. I bet your mind is still trying to catch up to what's happening around you. Take a deep breath, Eli. You'll do fine." That's the only thing Yohan can give since he's not very experienced when it comes to love matters. Yes, Yohan dates here and there, but it was never out of love.

Elijah took a few deep breaths and found himself calming down. Yohan noticed a notebook peeking out of Elijah's backpack.

"Why not write it down, Eli?" When Elijah looked at Yohan in confusion, Yohan pointed to Elijah's notebook. "Write down everything you want to say to Devon. It will also lighten the burden in your chest," Yohan suggested, and based on Elijah's bright expression, Yohan did a good job.

Elijah grabbed his notebook and pen, then began scribbling his emotions away. One by one, Elijah expressed the confusing emotions he is feeling at the moment.

Meanwhile,

It has been two hours since Blue's surgery. Rouge has been pacing the hospital hallways back and forth, about to lose his mind, while Devon tries to keep his sanity too. Ryzel was rushed to the ICU and they are yet to hear good news.
