Okay, so really quick, just letting you guys know that I've been working on a sequel that will continue with Cassie when she moves in with her mom's friend and her four sons.
Please read it. Anywhoo, happy reading my lovelies!!
I wake up to my phone vibrating feverishly under my pillow. I see that it is my Aunt Tina that's calling.
"Hello" I say groggily in to the phone
"Get up. I'll be there in 45 minutes to pick you up" she said and then hung up.
I staggered out of bed and went to my closet where my black cocktail dress that my mom bought me hung. I placed the dress on the bed and went in to the bathroom to freshen up and fix my hair.
I slipped on the dress and a pair of pumps Serena bought me. Sauntered downstairs to have a bagel and orange juice.
When I was done eating I stood in front of the mirror and put on a little makeup to hide the bags under my eyes.
About 5 minutes later I heard and honk out side the house and picked up my purse already knowing it was my aunt.
"You look really nice" she said as I stepped in to her red Volkswagen Passat.
"Thank you" I said. The rest of the ride was awkwardly silent. I mean who would be comfortable having a conversation in this circumstance.
I walked into the creamation hall and there were about 5 people there. My aunt wasn't kidding when she said my mom specified who she wanted to be there.
I looked around the room and saw my grandparents, my uncle and his wife, then lastly, my birth father. I simply looked and my father with no emotion on my face. Why is he here? He doesn't deserve to be here.
------------------------------
After the cremation, I thanked everyone that was there, except my father. I mean why would I talk to him after all that happened before he left. I simply gave him a nod and walked out. Just like he did after he told me my mom should have aborted me and everything wrong in his life is my fault.
My aunt drove me back to the house and asked me if I was going to be okay. I didn't bother to answer, I just went inside, why do people keep asking if I'm going to be okay like they can do something to fix it? I started to pack the clothes and things I would take with me to Detroit.
Hey Cass, how was it? You didn't text me.
It was from Axel, I simply told him it was fine and I would call or text him later. He understood and didn't protest.
After I had 3 suitcases of clothes and shoes and stuff , I went on to pick my carry on with my tablet, laptop and pictures of my mother. I placed the locket I always wear with a picture of Kristen and I around my neck.
My flight, according to the itinerary Aunt Teresa sent me, would be leaving in 4 hours. That left me enough time to eat a tub of ice cream and tell Tina that she could sell the house and put the things in storage. She agreed to transfer the money for the house to my bank account once it was sold.
I called a cab and was off to the airport. Once I got to the airport and checked in, I called Teresa. She told me that she would be coming to pick me up and that her four boys can't wait to have a girl in the house.
Here comes a new chapter in my life, 'Living With the Lancaster Boys'.
