Cassie's Tale on Life, Love and Loss

chapter 12

Hazel brown eyed Chase takes a seat behind me with his partner on his right. On his left sits red head Jack and brunette mohawked Jaymie. That's how I remember which is which.

During the double period lecture Axel and I got pounded with paper balls and notes. I was still avoiding Christina's eyes, but I could hear her and her minions snickering and making comments, calling me a slut and just another one of Axel's toys. Sadly, she didn't know Axel had no interest in me at all. Maybe if she knew she wouldn't be saying things like that about me. All I wanted this year was to not have any drama and now here comes this.

Either the guys were being really friendly or they actually like me, personally I believe its the first but Axel says they like me. Chase said its refreshing to have a girl that's not a bitch, I guess they were referring to Christina.

We all ended up passing a lot of notes back and forth to each other and got in a little trouble here and there from Mrs. Snowden, but nothing too major. I would hate to get my first detention because of this, but then again, I wouldn't mind. I forgot how great it felt to be a rule breaker .

By the end of chemistry it was 3rd period and time to go to math down to the first floor.
How so they expect me to go from the fourth floor to the first in three minutes and go to my locker in the same time.

Axel decides to walk to me to class since he had class on the first floor anyway. We walked through the halls with his arm strung around my waist earning stares and gasps from everyone. Relax people! We're just friends! Or maybe they were gossiping about the rumors Christina started.

When we got to my class we stood by the door and talked a bit before the bell rung and he said goodbye. I turned and went to my seat.

As I sat down I got a text message from Axel saying I miss that sweet ass already :-p

I smiled down at the phone and my cheeks burned red. I responded saying Drowl much! :P XD.

The rest of the day was pretty much the same: being walked to class by Axel and getting stares from everyone.

For lunch Axel, Chase, Jaymie, and Jack invited me to sit with them instead of my usual seat in the corner. We chatted, mostly them asking me questions about what I like and trying to get to know me.

When they asked me stuff about my family and dad I started getting tense, I guess Axel picked up on it and said that we needed to study so we were going to the library.

"You okay? You got kind of upset and emotional back there" Axel asked on the way.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just don't like talking about my dad or my family in general" I told him looking down at my shoes on our way the library.

I realized he stopped a few steps back so I stopped too and walked toward him. He pulled me to a wall and leaned on it holding both my hands and looked in to my eyes.

"You know you can tell me anything right? I'm here for you. I care about you" he said, his eyes so pure.

I couldn't think of a reply to that so I grabbed him around the neck and hugged him, standing on my toes. It takes him a split second to react but when he does, he tightens his around around my waist pulling me in to him and we stand there for a few seconds before we're interrupted. There were tears in my eyes.

"This doesn't look like studying", said a familiar female voice, breaking us from our hug.

There goes avoiding her all day. She must have been eavesdropping. Does she really think there's something going on between us? Why would she that? Then again the position we were in doesn't make it any better.

His arms loosen around me and I let go...
