The kichen cabinets were blazing as well as the stove and almost the whole kitchen, matter of fact the flames were now all the way up to the ceiling. Axel grabbed the fire extinguisher and I called the fire department, Serena on the other hand was no where to be found.
"Where the hell is your sister?" I asked frantically, not knowing what to do.
"How should I know? Go look for her I'll stay here and try to put this out." He screamed just as frantic as me.
She wasn't in her room, or in the house at all and there house was pretty big: three floors and a whole floor dedicated to guests. I went outside and there she was across the street talking to someone in a truck.
"We need you... Now!" I said as I walked over to her and dragged her back towards the house.
"What the hell happened?" She screamed racing to the blazing house. How did she notice all these flames and smoke when she was sucking on that guy's face.
No one answered her. When the firefighters came and put out the fire they asked how it happened.
"Well we were making dinner and I turned off the fire- I think- because it was done. Then my friend came to get something so I ran out to him. I don't know how this happened" Serena cried pacing back and forth
"So where were you two then?" The chief asked me and Axel.
"Well I was finishing up a project when Cassie" Axel said looking over to me "came to call me to set the table. We were goofing around for a little then we started to smell smoke so we ran downstairs and found the flames."
"Yea and that's when I called you and went looking for Serena." I added on.
The chief nodded and turned around. The house was cleared for them to go back inside and gathered their things quickly. As they were going in I saw my moms car pulling up and she raced over to see what had happened.
"Are you okay? Is anyone hurt? What happened?" She ranted.
"We were cooking and left the stove unattended and it just happened, but yea everyone is fine." I said trying to calm her down. If I knew one thing for sure, she knew how to overreact.
"Is the house okay for them to stay? If not they can stay in our guest room for a while."
"No, but their parents are going to get a hotel room for them."
"Nonsense, they can stay at our house" my mom said, she always had to get her way.
I walked upstairs to find them both packing a small bag of their essentials and some clothes.
"I hope you guys didn't book a room already because my mom mom is insisting on you staying with us."
"Are you serious?" Axel asked walking out of his room, "it would be nice, tell her that we said thank you."
"So that's a yes, that's great because she already went and straightening up the room." I told them both.
They gathered their things and walked over to my house. Once they were there my mom informed them that she called their parents to inform them of what happened and that they said they would be staying in Wisconsin a little longer then since there was no need to rush home.
"So you guys, your parents spoke to their contractor and they say the house won't be okay for a while because they need to fix a lot of things now. Serena, darling, you'll have to room with Cassie, if you don't mind." My mom said as she placed our plates on the table for dinner, since what we were cooking- well was ashes.
"Oh that's no probably. Thank you" Serena replied picking up her fork.
After we were done eating I showed Axel to the guest room and Serena to mine. Well this was going to be fun, I thought as Serena began putting her clothes in my closet. I didn't mind that she was putting them there because I never use it but this was still weird.
