Cassie's Tale on Life, Love and Loss

Chapter 20

"That was... amazing. It reminded me of roller coasters I used to go on when I was little." Cassie commented slipping her hands from around my waist and swinging her leg over the bike.

"I told you it would be great sweet cheeks." I said helping her down.

We walk through the school parking lot hand in hand again. All eyes are on us but honestly I don't care. We're just friends... For now.

"Hey I have a paper I need to go print, tell Mr. Weigner I'm here, I'm just in the library" She told me as she let go of my hand.
Great, now I'll have to deal with interrogation from Chase and them.

"Mr. Weigner, Cassie says she's here but she is in the library printing a paper. I guess she'll come speak to you later" I said walking up to his desk to sign the attendance sheet.

"Yo, lover boy, come here" I heard Jaymie call from the back of the class.

Walking over to them I wondered if I should tell them about how I feel about Cassie. I mean they wouldn't judge, right, they've been my best friends for years now.

"I need to talk to you guys" I said when I got over to our desk.

"Finally ready to tell us the big secret" Jack jeered smirking.

"Its not really a secret. But umm its Cassie" I whispered loud enough for just them to here me.

"I knew it" Chase jumped up. "Fork it over boys"

"Wait, pause you guys bet on it" I said not too shocked. Leave it to my friends to bet on who I like.

"Not so much on who it was, we all knew it was her, more so on when you would tell us. Chase said less than a week, we said 3 or 4 weeks." Jaymie filled me in.

"Well aren't you guys the best friends ever" I said shaking my head.

"I know right. Anywho, have you told her?" Chase said with a serious look on his face.

"Well, no, I don't know if she does too and it would just be weird to say it and she doesn't. I mean we have a great friendship going and I don't really want to mess that up." I said.

They all burst out laughing. "Who the hell are you and what did you do with our friend?" Jack managed to get out between laughs.

"For real though man, since when did you start doubting your effect on girls?" Jaymie said. Chase still laughing, practically dying.

"Shut your faces!" I shot back "I don't know man, she's just different. She doesn't worship the ground I walk on or anything like that."

"Grow a pair and just tell her." Chase advised getting up from his seat, patting me on the back. The bell had rung so I guess I should probably be going to chemistry.

When should I tell her? What should I say?  Should I be like: sweet cheeks, I doubt you feel the same but I like you? Why is this so damn hard?!?! Dammit, I'm Axel fvcking Ramirez, I don't fall in love.
