Kabanata 1: Bicycle boy
I am silently walking along the pathway of Cabales Community High School. Tress, grasses and flowers near the pathways of classrooms are starting to look green indicated that they're already got to taste the drops of rain. It is already June and wet season is coming.
I look around and it is not a big surprise for me to see new faces of students wondering the not so small and not so wide vicinity of CCHS. For a beginning of the year, it's so early to come in school by six thirty in the morning. First year students and their exciting to feeling to attend the first day of the class. I know the feeling. I have experienced that too.
Welcome last year! It feels like yesterday when I went here and attended my first day of class for being a high school student. It's been three years, my Cabales. The thought of being able to graduate in here is making me felt so literate and well educated in such a wonderful way. I still can't believe I'll be leaving this paradise nine months from now.
Sighing deeply I continue walking until I reach the the school's bulletin board. It is where enrollees and their respective schedules as well as their given sections could be seen. Noong first year ako, hindi ko rin alam saan hahanapin ang section ko. But I was just thankful I have a lots of acquaintances.
I was sa little bit shy way back then when there are some students who are in my same year called my name and told me where my name was being listed. I don't know them and yet they still approach me pretty well. It's not as if famous ako sa lugar namin dahil taong-bahay lang naman ako. Maybe, we've been into contest and just like me, they are contestants too. But me as me, of course it felt great. Everytime those strangers show their genuine beams on front of me, everytime they would come near me and talk to me casually--it just so amazing that they can recognize you. Despite of the fact that you're not even aware how did you've met them.
"Riene can you please tour your new classmate inside the vicinity of CCHS? I don't have somebody else to ask for this but you since na alam mo na naman lahat ng facility natin dito diba?" pakiusap ni Ma'am Joy, isa sa mga huwarang guro dito sa Cabales Community High School.
Standing in front of her table I answered her respectfully.
"You didn't met him yet?" tanong niya ulit.
"No ma'am.
Kinuha niya ang Cellphone sa bag at may pinindot doon "Wait I'll contact him.
I'm in my last year of high school. It's been four years my Cabales. Parang kailan lang first year lang ako ngayon heto't ga-graduate na sa March. Everything that I had been working on is finally getting to harvest. High school really is the most exciting and most unforgettable experience in one's life.
Partnered with pair of black Nike rubber shoes.
