"𝕊o, let's take a look at what we found." taehyung said, opening the newly found box and placing the objects on the glass table one by one. "romance books, candles, weird looking liquids that look like they could kill you in an instant, a picture of a lady and the really cute necklace i'm wearing right now. oh, and the witches book." he numbered, jungkook looking at everything with curiosity. "is it safe to say there was a witch living here or is it too soon?""yeah, it all looks that there was a witch living here." jungkook hummed, picking up the glass bottle with a green liquid that looked like it was made and stored a long time ago. small bubbles popped every now and then, making it look pretty disgusting. "do you think it was the old woman from the supermarket?"
"even if it was her, it still doesn't make any sense. why would she turn you into a ghost? i didn't know you when i arrived to the house. it would make sense if it was one of my friends, or even me, you know?" he said, picking up another glass bottle, which contained the same disgusting looking liquid, but blue colored. "should i drink this?"
"are you crazy? of course you should not!" jungkook frowned, relaxing when taehyung laughed at his reaction. "yeah, you're right. it must be something else."
"what does the first page of the book say?" the silver haired boy asked, picking up one of the white candles and giving it a sniff, shrugging later. it smelled like a really faint vanilla, almost non-existent.
jungkook opened the book and started reading the first page. "witches: a female thought to have special powers derived from the devil; a female sorcerer; an ugly evil-looking old woman... that's it." he read, closing the book and leaving it on the glass table once again. "i actually always thought witches weren't real."
"and i always thought ghosts weren't real, but here we are." he sighed, placing everything back on the box and sitting on the couch. "at least the rocking chair didn't move this time."
"i was ready to throw some hands if it did-" jungkook's words were interrupted by taehyung's phone ringing, the older looking at the caller id with a small frown on his face. "are you going to pick it up, or..."
the boy sighed once again, pressing the green button and placing the phone on his ear. "oh, hey jaesung. what's up?" he greeted, jungkook frowning slightly at the mention of that name. it was the guy his friends were talking about. "i'm kind of busy right now, sorry. we can plan something out tomorrow at work, yeah?... okay, see you!" he faked excitement, hanging up soon after. he placed his phone back at the couch, looking up at jungkook, who looked at him expectantly. "it was jaesung, he asked me if i wanted to hang out." he shrugged, holding his new necklace with the tip of his fingers, feeling slightly intimidated under jungkook's gaze.
"hm." jungkook simply hummed, grabbing one of the romance books and floating around the living room, leaving taehyung a bit uneasy. still, he decided to brush it off and text his friends to come over so he could show them what they found on the basement.
jungkook, on the other hand, was confused about his own behavior. you're acting like a bitch right now, jungkook. why was he acting like a bitch?
it's funny how even if he was a ghost, even if he couldn't interact with other humans or do basic human needs, he still felt his belly tingling every time taehyung did the bare minimum. he still felt his chest getting heavy when he heard the older talking to that guy on the phone.
he couldn't deny that the boy was attractive. hell, he was the prettiest boy he've ever seen in his life; he was just jungkook's type. so he wasn't going to lie to himself and say he didn't feel attracted at all.
but he couldn't even touch him without the poor boy shivering, he couldn't be all possessive over him. he needs to chill.
taehyung on the other hand has been avoiding those kind of thoughts at all costs. because yeah, he had to admit the boy was to die for, but he was a ghost. he couldn't be attracted to a ghost, that's insane!
but even if it is insane, he couldn't stop thinking about how the boy jokingly raised his long sleeves to his elbows to pick up a box from the basement, revealing a tattoo on his right arm that made him almost drool himself on the spot. sure, he saw the ones that he had on his hand, but he thought it was like random drawings with a pen or some shit. but he sure wasn't expecting that. he had a thing for tattoos since forever and, just when he thought the boy couldn't get any more attractive, he does that. so now that's the only thing taehyung could think about.
minutes passed when none of them said a thing, jungkook reading —or at least trying
to— that romance book and taehyung searching for the words to talk to jungkook in the least awkward way."so, what's the book about?" he finally spoke, almost hitting his head on the wall soon after. all that thinking for just that stupid question?
"it's about a man and a woman loving each other." jungkook shrugged, finally looking up from his book to look at taehyung. the silver haired boy looked away when they made eye contact, which made him raise an eyebrow. "are you okay?"
"yeah. the guys are coming over to see our treasures." he changed the topic quickly, jungkook chuckling at the way taehyung called the old stuff they found at the basement.
and speaking of the devil, there was a knock on the door, jungkook floating that way to open it. an excited yoongi came in as fast as he could, smiling from ear to ear. "where's the stuff?"
so they showed them everything they found, hoseok feeling kind of scared —just a little tiny bit—, jimin creating theories on the spot and yoongi just looking at everything in awe.
"you know, you should invite jaesung over and show him this stuff." jimin teased, taehyung just laughing it off while shaking his head.
but yoongi was known for being really observant, so he didn't miss the way jungkook rolled his eyes in annoyance when his boyfriend mentioned the topic.
so when the other three were distracted, yoongi called jungkook to the dining room and told him a master plan to get rid of the boy once and for all. because honestly, yoongi didn't really like that boy when they met him, so it was a win win situation.
and that's how operation getting rid of that annoying ass boy so jungkook doesn't die a second time of jealousy (i told you i'm not dead, yoongi-hyung) oh, right, my bad. operation getting rid of that annoying ass boy so jungkook doesn't die completely of jealousy began.
