"𝕀t's jungkook's dad." namjoon told the other three boys, who gasped at the shocking news. "it seems like the witch is getting revenge through jungkook, because his father left her to go with jungkook's mom.""it does make sense." yoongi hummed, looking at the youngest of the room, who was pressing his lips together while looking at the roof distractedly. "i think we should investigate the basement more profusely. maybe there's more clues in there. maybe we can tolerate a chair moving by itself if we put our hearts on it." he said, hoseok shaking his head in disagreement, but not actually talking. the situation was pretty tense at the moment.
"you're right." taehyung nodded, even though he was more busy looking at jungkook. he felt worried about him, he haven't said a single word since they left his parents' home.
"we'll do that first in the morning, okay? i'm pretty tired right now." yoongi yawned, the others agreeing and standing up. well, he was tired, but it wasn't new in him, he always wanted to get some good sleep. right now, he just wanted the younger boys to have some alone time. "everything will be okay, i'm sure of it." he reassured and, after everyone said their goodbyes, they left the house, the boys now being alone on the couch.
"what's on your mind, kookie?" taehyung asked after a couple of seconds, jungkook sighing lightly and finally looking at him.
"there's a lot going on in my mind, tae." he said, leaning against the back of the couch and closing his eyes tiredly.
he was tired. even if he wasn't able to actually feel as he did before, he was exhausted. he just wanted this to be over as soon as possible, is that really too much to ask for?
"i got plenty of time." taehyung said, doing as the younger did, leaning against the back of the couch and closing his eyes. "and i'm a really good listener."
"how long am i going to stay like this?" he asked, even though he knew taehyung didn't know the answer. "even my parents can't see me, it's frustrating. i want everything to go back to normal, i don't want to be just a floating thing that follows everyone around. i want to feel, eat and sleep again." he ranted, taehyung listening closely, allowing jungkook to pour his heart out. "its been a month now and i still have no idea of how to get my body back. i'm really losing hope, tae."
"please, don't lose it. it's the only thing we actually have." he said, feeling like tearing up right on the spot. the situation was so frustrating in every sense. he felt so impotent for not being able to actually help the boy, it was eating him whole. "i can't really tell you how much longer this will last, but i can assure you one thing; i'll never leave your side, jungkook. i'll be there for you no matter what, we're in this together." he said, opening his eyes to look at jungkook, who was already looking back at him with big hopeful eyes. "i promise."
"thank you." he whispered, his hand raising to touch taehyung's cheek, but stopping right before it made contact. because there's no contact to be made.
there it was. the bitter feeling that invaded their body when they got reminded that they couldn't touch each other. no hugs, no kisses, no caressing. the only way to comfort each other being words and smiles. it was absolutely torturing. jungkook lowered his hand slowly, the older gulping the bitterness and taking a deep breath.
"let's go upstairs, yeah? i'm really tired." taehyung said after a couple of seconds of absolute silence, jungkook nodding and floating after taehyung. once they reached the silver haired boy's room, the older laid bed and sighed deeply, jungkook laying beside him.
they both got on their sides, looking at each other closely. they noticed their moles and scars, which just made them feel even more attracted than before. they studied each other's features in silence, no words needing to be spoken at that intimate moment.
minutes went by of them just looking at each other, until taehyung broke the silence to compliment the younger. "you have really pretty eyes."
"you have really pretty everything." jungkook mumbled, making taehyung smile, his characteristic boxy smile now on full display. "you're so fucking adorable."
"you're adorable, too." he chuckled, licking his lips after a couple of seconds. the sun was currently setting, ready to go to sleep and allow the moon to do her job for the night, the last sun rays entering through the window and hitting taehyung's face delicately, making him look even more ethereal. his brown eyes were glowing as he stared at jungkook, who felt like he was melting at the spot because of his beauty.
that's when jungkook knew, he was officially whipped for that silver haired boy.
"you should probably sleep, tae." he mumbled, his hands aching to caress his soft looking hair, the fact that he couldn't making him feel like shit. "you need some rest."
taehyung nodded, closing his eyes after taking one last look at the brown haired boy. he went to sleep pretty fast, considering that he was indeed tired. he hasn't been sleeping too well these days, the worry and the feeling of incompetence forbidding him to do so.
but he felt calm at the moment. jungkook was laying by his side, guarding his sleep. only the thought of the younger being there was enough to make him feel at ease.
"i really hope you keep your promise, tae." jungkook whispered, watching taehyung sleep. he looked so perfect even resting. "i don't know what i'd to without you at this point."
so the night went by, the moon and the stars being witnesses of the two lovers who couldn't touch each other, one sleeping peacefully and the other just being able to watch him sleep.
