"𝕊o, did the jaemin guy leave you alone?" jungkook asked, watching how taehyung made himself breakfast as always. it may be creepy, but taehyung was already used to it and he didn't really mind."jaesung? yeah. he talks to me from time to time, but he doesn't ask me to hang out with him anymore." he shrugged, toasting his sandwich when he finished building it. "he told a few of co-workers about what happened, but no one believed him."
"they must know how delusional the boy is." jungkook laughed, taehyung rolling his eyes in amusement. "well, there's no need to thank me."
"i'm still not going to thank you, jungkook." he said, laughing when he heard the ghost's dramatic gasp.
"that is so rude... anyways, let's play twenty questions to get to know each other, okay?"
it was currently saturday, taehyung staying home with jungkook since he didn't have to work. they were thinking about inviting their friends so they meet each other but, even if they didn't say it out loud, they wanted to spend some alone time together first.
"okay, i'll start. do you have any siblings?" the older asked, picking up his sandwich carefully when it was ready and placing it on a porcelain plate. he then walked to the dining room, placing his food on the table and sitting in front of it, jungkook laying on the table as usual.
"no, i'm an only child." he answered, shaking his head while looking at taehyung. "what about you?"
"i have an older brother, his name is taeyang. what's your favorite food?" he asked, taking a bite of his breakfast once he finished talking. jungkook sighed dreamily, almost tearing up because he wasn't able to eat at the moment.
"anything edible, really. i love food." he said, taehyung chuckling at that. he actually felt sorry for him, he couldn't imagine not being able to eat at all. "how many guys have you dated?"
"two. neither of them worked out." he shrugged, not really affected by his failed relationships at this point; yeah, it was painful when it happened, but he recovered pretty easily.
the younger saw the opportunity and immediately took it. "do you wanna try it out with ghosts?" jungkook asked, his flirting method always being boldness and honesty, a sly smile decorating his lips.
"it's my turn to ask the questions." taehyung dodged the question, smiling too in amusement. the silver haired boy loved boldness. "are you a good kisser?"
"i'll let you decide that." he mumbled, the tension in the room growing at a fast speed suddenly. since when they decided that flirting was part of their conversations? "does it really feel cold when i'm close to you?"
taehyung nodded, leaving his sandwich aside to look at the younger boy. "yeah, it feels like a cold breeze. like i'm in a forest at night." he explained, watching how the ghost floated to be closer to him, their faces now inches apart. "but i can tolerate it."
"i'm glad you can." he mumbled, just looking at the older's face and lips. he looked so kissable, all he wanted to do was grab his cheeks and plant a deep kiss that makes him forget about everything in an instant.
but he couldn't. the only sensation he could give the older was a cold breeze and it was driving them crazy.
its been a month and a few weeks since jungkook appeared on his kitchen. the time they spend together daily is slowly making them attracted to each other, but it was so wrong. they couldn't even touch each other, how is that going to work out?
they were staring at each other in complete silence, taehyung's heartbeat being the only sound that reached their ears. sadly, they were interrupted by the older's ringtone, a call making them blink and look away nervously, jungkook floating away and laying on the table once again.
even if he didn't feel his heartbeats, he knew his heart must be beating quickly. the boy was just too beautiful, specially up-close.
"yeah, you can come. i'll see if jungkook's friends are not busy so you can meet them." taehyung said, jimin being the responsible for ruining their little moment. "okay, i'll see you later. bye!"
jungkook sighed softly, watching how taehyung grabbed his sandwich and walked to the kitchen without looking back at him. did the younger scared him off? that's the last thing he wanted to happen.
but taehyung was in denial. he was denying to himself that he wanted this, that he wanted to be closer to the ghost, that he was slowly getting attached. because it was completely wrong and crazy.
he picked up his phone once again and dialed seokjin's number, waiting some seconds until his voice greeted him. "hey, i just wanted to ask you if you wanted to come to my house. my friends are coming and i thought you guys would like to meet them." he explained, seokjin accepting and telling him that they would be there in some minutes. "okay, see you soon!"
he sighed, leaving his phone aside and looking at his half-eaten sandwich. what can i do to stop thinking about jungkook in a romantic way?
an idea flashed through his brain, but he decided to discard it immediately. still, a small part of him kept it in his mind, just in case it was actually necessary in the future.
"are my hyungs coming?" jungkook asked, floating to the kitchen but keeping some distance between them —even though there will always be distance between the ghost and the silver haired boy, since it was imposible for them to touch—.
"yeah. and i'm your hyung too, you know?" he remembered, jungkook laughing while shaking his head and floating away. "oh, okay. what a brat."
they both decided to leave their confusing and kind of wrong romantic feelings aside when their friends arrived, deciding that it was better to focus on the fact that a potential witch was after them —mainly after jungkook— and they didn't know why.
love is weird and impossible sometimes, isn't it?
