Betrayal

"Lovely, focus!"

I blinked when I saw Mommy furrowing her eyebrows at me while I was stretching my body. I licked my lower lip before putting my focus on what I was doing. Mommy was meters away from me, watching my every move to see if I can really participate in the contest I was planning to join. I was practicing a performance for it for weeks already, and Mommy came to my dance room to see my performance.

After showing my performance to my mother, we went to a restaurant to eat. We were with Ryan while we were eating. After that, we went back to our house. I changed my clothes before putting spare clothes in my duffle bag. I need to be in my dance room for a day to improve my skills since Lila will be participating in the contest, too. We were practicing with each other, so, we know each other's performances. It's fine since we're just joining the contest for fun and experience.

I went to the building, where Lila and I have been practicing our performance. I was humming while walking towards the dance room. It was already dark outside, but Lila and I will stay in a hotel after practicing. The hotel was only meters away from our dance room, so, we'll just use my car. When I arrived at the dance room, Lila was dancing while sweating so hard. She was watching herself in the mirror in front of us.

"Did you bring food?" she asked after finishing a song.

"No, why? Are you hungry?" I asked.

"No. I texted someone to bring us food, but since Tita Marina already ate with you, I'll just eat the food with that damn person," Lila answered.

I just nodded my head at her before changing my clothes into more comfortable, so, I could move my body properly. Mommy told me that my performance is nice, but I need to lighten my moves to impress the judges. I took my mother's advice since she was a ballerina back then, too. And I think, lightening my movements can really impress the judges in the contest.

I was stretching on the floor when the door of our dance room opened. I looked at it to see who it was since Lila immediately stood. I froze in my position when I saw three people standing in front of the room, Alena, Nora, and Joseph. They were carrying plastics of food and drinks. They were wearing their casual clothes as Lila welcomed them.

I looked away from them when they looked in my direction. I heavily breathed before focusing on what I was doing. Lila was talking with them with such a loud voice like they didn't argue the last day I saw her with them. I heard from Lila that Alena started to ignore Ava when she learned that Ava was a cheater. I wanted to believe her, but Alena's anger towards Ava was above the anger she showed me. Mukhang may iba pang dahilan kung bakit gano'n na lang ang galit niya kay Ava at sana ay mali ang hinala kong nabasa niya ang huling sulat ko para kay Joseph.

Gusto ko man kausapin sina Nora at Alena tungkol doon ay nauunahan ako ng takot na baka ay magalit din sila sa 'kin dahil mas pinili kong hiwalayan si Joseph kaysa sa ayusin ang problemang ako lang pala ang nakakaalam at nagiisip. Matagal na naman 'yon para sa akin, pero para sa kanila, parang kahapon lang dahil sa rami nang hindi nila nalalaman tungkol sa tunay na dahilan kung bakit ako biglang nawala ng bansa at kung bigla na lang nila nalaman na may iba na akong boyfriend.

Hindi ko sila masisisi kung ayaw na nila akong kausapin pagkatpos nilang malaman ang tungkol doon kaya gano'n ko na lang tiisin ang mga salitang binabato sa 'kin ni Alena simula nang makabalik ako ng Los Angeles. Bukod sa walang paalam ko silang iniwan noon, narinig niya pa na may iba na akong boyfriend nang hindi nalalaman na wala na kami ng pinsan niya.
