They decided to let it go. It wasn't like they would get answers if they wasted time thinking about it. They would get their answers soon.

"I have to talk to Esme." Jasper said out of the blue. Violet shrugged. "Do you want to talk to her? The only reason Esme let me and Alice leave after losing you was, we promised to call her regularly. If We didn't, she would hunt us down." He said with a smile. Esme would find them and make them pay for making her worry.

"No. I don't want to speak to them now. I can't. I need time." Violet answered shaking her head. She has to come to terms with what she was told. She needs to get used to the idea that they didn't abandon her. It was a misunderstanding caused deliberately by Edward. Jasper nodded. He understood what she was saying. He didn't think the family would take it well or believe him if he told them what Violet told him either. They need to see each other face to face and make peace.

"And if Edward was around, it would be a disaster. We don't know his motives for what he did. We don't know what will happen if he finds out what is happening." Violet added. They were both deep in thought as they talked about random things. They kept moving close to each other almost subconsciously. And by the time they knew what was happening they were sitting almost touching each other to the point of sticking together. Violet got up blushing a little and walked to the kitchen. It wasn't anything. It was just attraction. They told themselves they didn't feel anything for each other.

"I need food." She muttered and searched the cup boards. It seems they didn't know what she would eat and brought a little something of everything available in a mart. Good people.

"You are so clueless Jasper." Peter said with amusement. Jasper looked up. "She is the one Alice broke up with you for." Peter said and vanished from the room pulling Char who just walked in out. "We are going for a hunt."

Jasper followed after Bella soon after.

"So, where were you these two years after you left Forks?" He asked her.

"I went to Spokane first. I learnt forging documents there. It saved me lot of trouble, let me tell you. I travelled to Oregon after a while and Nevada from there. I killed Jane and Dimitri there, when they caught me. It was after I decided to settle down in the town I was living in for months. So I left there. It was my fault. I thought I wasn't being followed. I was tired of not being to settle down, though I loved travelling, I just wanted a break. Travelling for fun is different from running. I wanted a break. I called the pack and told them I wanted to settle down there and that was a mistake." She said with a sigh of regret. "Anyway, I went to Vegas from there. I decided to have fun. So, I had lots of fun. I drank a lot, enjoyed a lot and played a lot. I changed my looks then. I started dyeing my hair using contacts from the time I hit Vegas. I almost failed that semester and I wanted to complete my degree in 3 years. So, I left Vegas and went to Albuquerque. I visited all the tourist attractions in all the places I travelled to from then. To hell with being careful. I was as careful as I can be in the circumstances anyway. I stayed for two months and went to Santa Fe and Dallas from there. This was my final stop. I came to Texas three weeks ago. I started work in that bar last week. I decided to go to Canada next but not for a while." She said.

"That is a lot of places in two years." He said. It was a statement.

"Necessity, in part and I love travelling too. I love reading all kinds of books and lore of the places I visit. I just hated not being able to talk and make friends and keep in touch with the few I became friends with."

"I was there in almost all the places you travelled to last two years." Jasper confessed. "I never went to Vegas. If you skip it, I was there in all the other places at least for a month or two." They were both shocked.

Maybe it was because they knew each other, maybe it was because they both felt the attraction or it was their hobbies, they both loved books and playing the guitar. They both loved peace. Whatever it was, they grew close very fast. Jasper knew they were mates and he didn't find it odd. He would be worried if they weren't close instead.

Bella spent most of her time with Jasper always talking about something or sharing a book or just reading their own book in peace. She spent the rest of the time with Charlotte, either shopping, clubbing or cooking and with Peter both of them pranking each other and almost always coming to blows. He would beat her, then she would turn the table using her shield. Life was pleasant. They grew close. She found another family in them. A small family of four, who knew when to give space to each other (when Peter and Charlotte start going at it like rabbits and Jasper and Bella get all lovey-dovey without realizing it.), when to tease each other and who had lots of family time and fun.

Jasper took Bella on a date almost every day. They didn't have anything else to do anyway. They would explore the woods at Bella's pace some distance away from the farm. Her pace was much faster than normal humans' but she was still slower than vampires. They would feed the animals on the farm, they would go horse riding, on dinners, book shopping sprees, to play games, bowling. They didn't do the same activity twice in the two months they went on dates, except when they went forest exploring. It was a vast forest and Bella explored it slowly at her own pace, enjoying everything the forest had to offer including being bitten by insects and bugs. It was a human experience she would miss and wouldn't miss after she was turned. She came back itching, looking red and had rashes all over once after a trip. She came back feeling content and giddy.

"Pete, Char and I drink from criminals. The rapists, kidnappers and those who sell kids, the absolute criminals. I used to follow the diet too but I gave it up after I met Alice. The guilt was eating me up. I could feel what they were feeling and it made me feel guilty. I was a vegetarian for 60 something years I spent with them. It just made the thirst worse, I think. But it helped me solve my own feelings and find some peace. Now, I mix up my diet." He was waiting for her reaction. He wanted to know how she felt about him drinking from humans.

"I am not as naïve as I use to be. I am okay with it. When I am turned, maybe I will follow your diet, humans sometimes and animals sometimes. I saw quite a bit in the past three years and I know some people really deserve what they get." Her answer didn't disappoint him.

That led to another discussion. They were talking. It was better than her past experience with relationships anyway. Read, Edward, her one and only steady boyfriend.

They discussed when she would be turned. Whom did she want to turn her. What her diet would be. How she felt about this change. How she was coping with these past three years. How he was coping with these past two years. How it was without Alice around anymore. How they both felt about Alice. If Jasper and Alice had any feelings for each other and if Bella had feelings for Edward. Well, she didn't have any good feelings left for him anyway. Jasper and Alice would remain good friends and Bella hoped she and Alice would remain best friends too without this affecting their relationship.

They grew close. They grew inseparable. They grew attached and sappy. They fell in love.

"I Love you Jasper." She confessed one night when they were lying near a river in the woods, watching the moon and the occasional brave rabbit or deer that came near the river to drink water. It was tranquil. It was beautiful. They lay beside each other. Jasper hugging her to his side. He kissed her on her forehead and then her cheeks and her lips. As their kiss grew heated he pulled back reluctantly.

"I Love you too Isabella."

"Finally. I was waiting for that since three hours. I will become a statue if I waited any longer." Peter exclaimed from behind them. They got up to see Peter holding a camera recording them. It would have been embarrassing if it was someone else. But Peter was quite shameless himself when he was at it with Char, so Bella didn't mind it much. Well, that was a lie. She minded it a little bit. She didn't know she was going to say it, but there was Peter who knew and was getting blackmail for future purposes.

"You were waiting for the confession? What were you doing here? Why did you follow us? Privacy, Pete!" Bella shouted at him. She was blushing a light red, not visible to human eyes but visible to vampire eyes. It was adorable.

"I knew I had to record this. It will be a very valuable memory for you in the future. You will love and thank me for this, trust me." Peter said with a grin. "Good bye love birds. " They chased him away and laid down again to enjoy the moment and eventually Bella fell into a deep sleep, feeling safe in Jasper's arms.
