It seems as they were fighting for their lives, so was Harry Clearwater, who had a heart attack again and was admitted to the hospital. It was one of the reasons the kids were being searched for. If it wasn't the case, it was common on the rez that these kids disappeared for days and didn't come back until hungry. They would have been left staring at Colin for God knows how long if Seth and Leah weren't to be told that their dad only had a few more hours and nothing could be done for him anymore.
It was yet another blow no one could take. So when they were found by Billy with the help of another boy in the rez, well, no one knew what to say but lead Seth and Leah to the hospital as the police were called to talk to the kids.
On hindsight, it was a good thing that the few sightseers and people on the beach vacated it as soon as they saw a wolf running towards the beach. They had a valid reason to give for Colin's death though it was a low blow and a hit to the pack to say that one of their killed the other, lie it may be, they did it.
As the police took Colin, they all walked back to Sam's in a daze and crashed in the hall.

"Bella." She heard Leah call her.
"Yes?" She answered. No one was quite out of shock of Colin's death and still didn't reach the stage of grief.
"We called Charlie as dad was... You know. But he didn't answer. The police called and he didn't answer either. He left for home after his night shift yesterday morning." Leah said slowly and quietly. "The police wanted to tell you before they tried to break down his door or something."
Bella started feeling that dread again. She ran out of the house and hopped into her truck and made way home as Leah got in just as she was pulling out. Tears were starting to blur her vision as she drove at the maximum speed her truck allowed her to go at.
She got out parking the car in the middle of the road. There was a police cruiser with two officers outside. They can't technically go in until 24 hours from the time he is missing.
She opened the door and slowly walked into the living room just for red to greet her eyes. Everywhere she looked, it was red. Blood. Blood everywhere.
She screamed. She screamed bloody murder as she saw Charlie lying lifeless, his eyes staring out at the ceiling with no life in them. His expression one of terror and determination. His revolver lying beside him.
Leah and the officers ran into the house to find Bella lying in the pool of blood beside her father, shaking and muttering to herself.
"No, no, this can't be. No." She kept repeating.
Leah herself was feeling like shit from her father's impending death in less than an hour.

She had four weeks before college started. She was accepted into a college in Miami, California, Florida and Massachusetts. Four out of seven she applied. She remembered her and Charlie were so excited that she got accepted into such good colleges but no where surprised what with her stellar grades.
As each and everyone made arrangements and preparations for the three funerals no one was feeling anything but grief. It blanketed them as the gray clouds and the dark sky blanketed the town of Forks day in and day out.
First was Colin and Harry Clearwater's funerals on the rez on subsequent days, closely followed by Charlie's three days later.
"Colin was a very good boy. He was lively. He was the kind of kid who can make everyone smile just by entering the room and bring people back from their worst depressions and make them the best people." And Bella knew this to be true.
When she was suffering from the Cullens' departure and became friends with the pack, even though she felt better, she was still depressed some days. He and Brady always cheered her up and soon helped her get out of it completely just being their bubbly selves.
Though Harry was Charlie's friend she didn't know much about him.
It left a very hard, lasting and difficult impression on the pack, having to take three deaths at a time.
They coped with it as a family. Angela visited almost all the time with food at Bella's to keep her company when even the pack couldn't stand to be near each other for a while. There were constant visitors from both the rez and the town. After a few days she took to living with Jake, not being able to take being alone in Charlie's house with his memories.
Everyone blamed themselves over Charlie's and Colin's death and not the others. It made it hard for them to confront each other with the guilt eating away at their hearts.
The first week, three weeks before Bella's college was supposed to start, they kept to themselves and Bella found comfort with Angela who, though she did not know everything, helped out a lot.
The week after the funerals, Bella, pack and imprints kept close to each other. They never let each other out of their sight for long without panicking. They didn't talk to each other, they couldn't look at others for long without the guilt but they couldn't live without knowing that everyone was safe and here and they were okay, as okay as they can be anyway.

"Its not over yet." Bella woke up with a gasp.
"Its not over yet." She muttered to herself. "Not Over Yet." She has to talk to the pack.
