SHE was running. She was running from a lie and a past she knew wouldn't leave her alone. She knew it wouldn't let go and chase until she gave up and died or she was caught in the hunt this was. She wondered even today how she was such a naïve and trusting person. It made her laugh with bitterness, anger, and sadness. The past made her cry and it made her scream and shout and finally give up. So she never thought of it. She knew that if she stopped for a second to think, then that was it, she would give up.

Now, here she was, in a garage, fixing cars and bikes for money when she didn't know the difference between an engine and a break beyond the basics before. It has been two years since they left and she was still running and hiding and moving when she knew the end and the inevitable. She knew that the end for her was her death, much sooner than it should be and much later than it was meant to be.

She shook her head to get rid of her morbid thoughts.  These thoughts do her no good but make her feel like shit.

"Are you finished Camy?" In this town, in this place, she was Camellia Violet Wilson. This was not an identity she used often. She made up a new ID most of the time when she left a place but Vanessa Azalea Jones and Camellia Wilson were her favourite. They were her ID for when she wanted to stay in a place for longer and others were discardable and used when she didn't plan on spending long in that area. These two identities, she kept on her all the time. They were the only ones she took the pain to set up an almost impeccable backgrounds for.

Three years on the run has taught her many things. She picked up many odd jobs and skills. She was out in civilization in the nights where no one following her trail will be able to pluck her up and kill her. Mornings were safe to roam around free as the vampires didn't and wouldn't give humans a light show. She was as safe as she can get anywhere she is.

Being nocturnal, as well as on the run taught her many more things. She worked as a chef, a bartender, a waitress in both a bar and a restaurant, a stripper, babysitter, food deliverer, a clown and various other animals and characters for birthday parties and so many others.

She learned to live on the street, on the move, always looking over her shoulder for stalkers, for predators looking for fun and actual predators living among people. She met a forger during one of her nights as a stripper and bartender. He taught her how to forge documents that looked real. Only another expert forger would ever be able to tell they were fake. She spent seven months in that town, the most she dared and pushed herself and her timeline in any place. She learned everything there was to learn about forging from Rick. In turn, she taught him cooking, so he could find a cover job for his forging. She was just extremely lucky that it was at the beginning of her journey when she left just three months ago that she met Rick and that he was a very good guy or she would have died a long time ago in some ditch.

She never spent more than four months at any place and she was two weeks short of hitting that mark here.

"Yes, Alex. I was done yesterday, the day you promised to come and get your car." She said. He looked at her sheepishly and handed her the money. She took it and pocketed it. She looked on unsure whether to say anything or not until he was about to start his car to leave.

"Hey, Alex, um.., just... I wanted to tell you that I am leaving town soon. This is the last time you see me unless your car gives you trouble in the next week or so. So, goodbye." They became good friends in the four months she spent with him. She worked three jobs in this small town and he met her at one of them at least every day. She waitressed in a small restaurant he ate in, every evening from 5.0 to 9.0, here at Jim's repairing cars and as a baby sitter down the street from his house.

She will miss him, but she decided, she will move on and keep him safe from the horrors haunting her just like every other person who came across her.

It was time to leave, she decided. She would decide on her next destination after she hit the road.
