🗯️1: Bend In The Road🗯️

Edward and his family leaving her and Forks was just the beginning. It was the bend in the road. Where her true journey has started.

Maybe, if they stayed things would have been different. Maybe she would be happily in love and blissful in life.

But, they left.

They left a gaping hole in place of her heart. She didn't care anymore. Then she woke up from the dream she was in, a nightmare. She became a nightmare not just to herself but everyone around her. She looked back at the three months she spent as a lifeless doll and decided she wouldn't cry over them anymore.

It wasn't even Edward leaving that hurt her more than the fact that they left without a goodbye. She may just be some distraction or a pet but she thought she deserved a goodbye from the people whom she considered family and who told her she was family.

She started going to school again. She talked to Angela and Ben. She spent more time with Charlie and learning everything about the game he watched just to make him happy and make up for the hurt she caused him in the past three months. She wanted to make him happy and spend all the time she didn't get to from her childhood with her dad.

She became outgoing, she didn't want any part of the old Bella. She went to music classes, worked two jobs, studied hard and most of all had fun with her true friends.

She went to the Rez with her dad. Jacob was soon added to her small list of true friends. She went cliff diving, bike riding, and even learned some things about cars and repairing them from him.

She became a member of the Planning club in school to help Ben with decorations and stuff for school balls and celebrations. She went shopping and enjoyed picking clothes and accessories with Angela and picking gifts for Angie's little sister. She joined the book club and the sports club as well, shockingly.

Slowly but steadily she recovered. She started to live again and have fun. She even added different genres to her music and books.

She went to art classes with Kelly, Angie's sister. She added art as extra credit as she learned to love it. They were her haven, her safety. They were her Salvation, Angela, Ben, Jake, and Kelly helped her learn to live again.

She told Jacob that his legends were true and the cold ones did exist. She told him that the Cullens were vampires.

She didn't see any harm in telling him that. It was their legends he told her and if the cold ones were real then so were the shapeshifters. He went to his dad and asked him about it. He found that he was about to phase himself. He was running hot from the past three days.

Her telling him the truth stopped their friendship from breaking. Though he wanted to date her, she told him clearly, she wasn't interested.

"When you imprint and I assure you, you will, I have this gut feeling that you will, it will only leave both of us hurt. It will hurt more than Sam, Emily and Leah are hurt. They may be cousins but Sam and Leah weren't friends before they dated and she didn't lose a best friend as I will." She knew he was going to imprint, I just knew.

And Jacob accepted it. He knew her gut feelings always came true.

She became good friends with almost all the wolves. She made it clear it was her business whom she dated and it didn't define who she was. She also told them, that she ultimately belonged in this world, not the human one. Be it as a vampire or something else. Some accepted it and others didn't but they came around and started liking her and ignored her recent past.

She may have brought herself into a world she didn't know anything about, she may have put herself into danger with no protection or help but she knew, with no doubt, she belonged here. She would deal with being a puny human.

She was asked by Sam to come to the rez and that he had something to ask her. She had a bad feeling about it but she went none the less.

She drove her truck to Jacob's house and walked to Sam's where all the wolves and their imprints were waiting. She had a really bad feeling about this.

"Bella." Sam greeted her. Everyone else looked too tense to say anything. She looked at Jacob but he just gave her an apologetic look.

"Hey, Sam. What's up?" She asked.

"We need to talk. We need to know if you know anything about a leech." She stiffened. Bella really didn't even imagine it would be something like this. She nodded her head.

"It's a female Vamp. She has red hair." As soon as he gave her description she almost crumbled to the ground. Her face went paler than an actual Vampire's.

"I know who it is. But.. tell me, did she have anyone with her?" He shook his head.

"She was alone."

"I.." she started but didn't know how to continue. She didn't think they should know everything. No, they should never know the full story. It would cause more harm than anything.

She took a seat at the table and poured herself a glass of water with shaking hands. She drank it up in one go and out the glass down noisily. She took a deep breath and started her tale.

"Her name is Victoria. She had two companions in her coven. Laurent and James were their names. Laurent went away to the Denali coven to learn the Cullen Lifestyle. James was a hunter who liked the thrill of the chase. He caught my scent and wanted to kill me but basically, the Cullens saved my life. That's when I ended up with that broken leg." She added because she knew Jacob would ask.

"Edward said she wouldn't be a problem as they weren't anything but coven mates and friends." She rubbed her forehead as she was starting to feel irritated and angry and frightened. Not for herself but for everyone around her.

"And you still believe him?" Jake asked with a scowl.

"No Jake. I don't believe him now. But I did back then. I guess I was still stupid and naive. I..." She got lost in her thoughts as a memory came unbidden to the front of her mind.

"She can be dangerous." Jasper said very firmly. "They are mates." He said it with a conviction.

She didn't know what mates were. Maybe, soul mates? It must be.

"She isn't. Edward said he didn't hear anything of that sort in any if their heads. And Alice doesn't see anything either." Carlisle said very calmly. "And even if she is, we can't do anything. We lost her when she got back to Forks for Bella's address. She disappeared after she got it without a trace."

"Don't worry Jasper, nothing will happen, dear." Esme said with love and calmly.

"Bella?" She heard someone call her. She blinked and she was in Sam's kitchen wih everyone looking at her worriedly.

"Yes. Sorry. I was remembering something." That day, she was left alone with those three as the other four went hunting. They were back from Phoenix for four months and she just lost her cast and healed everything. She was slow at walking and stuff but she was good. She was in the kitchen when she heard Them discussing.

It seems Jasper caught Carlisle when he was about to leave for his work so they went on talking before noticing she was there.

"I.. I think she is here for me." She confessed and waited with dread for their reactions.
