Snake

At the cell. 

Loki turned to me "There's not many people that can sneak up on me. "

Me "But you figured I'd come."

Loki "After. After whatever tortures Fury can concoct, you would appear as a friend, as a balm. And I would cooperate."

I shook my head "no. I just came here to talk"

Loki smirked "about us?"

I asked confused " "us"?"

Loki "Don't tell me you don't remember me"

I looked at him even more confused. 

Loki smirked "Well, perhaps i look a little different. More human and less like a reptile."

I thought about it before i froze "the snake?"

His smirk grew. 

I shook my head "no no no no no"

He smirked, nodding "yes, yes, yes, yes, yes"

Me "you were the snake at the lake. You were the one who bit me - poisoned me"

He nodded "bingo"

I asked confused "why did you do that?"

Loki shrugged "i couldn't help myself"

Me "you ruined my life"

Loki shook his head "well, i wasn't the one who injected you the serum, was i? "

I looked down.

Loki "The serum. Hydra. the Winter Soldier Project. Barton told me everything. Your ledger is dripping, it's gushing red, and you think saving a man no more virtuous than yourself will change anything? This is the basest sentimentality. This is a child at prayer... PATHETIC!  You lie and kill in the service of liars and killers. You pretend to be separate, to have your own code, something that makes up for the horrors. But they are a part of you, and they will never go away! I won't touch Barton. Not until I make him kill you! Slowly. Intimately. In every way he knows you fear! And when he'll wake just long enough to see his good work, and when he screams, I'll split his skull! This is my bargain, you mewling quim!"

Me " You're a monster."

Loki shook his head " No, you brought the monster."

I raised an eyebrow "Banner... that's your play."

Loki froze "what?"

I said into the earpiece "Loki means to unleash the Hulk. Keep Banner in the lab, I'm on my way. Send Thor as well."

Then i turned to Loki, smirking "i bet you regret not killing me when you had the chance back then, don't you?"

He growled at me. 

At the lab. 

I walked in. 

Fury asked confused "What are you doing, Mr. Stark?"

Tony "Uh...kind of been wondering the same thing about you."

Fury " You're supposed to be locating the Tesseract."

Bruce "We are. The model's locked and we're sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit, we'll have the location within half a mile."

Tony " And you'll get your cube back, no muss, no fuss. What is PHASE 2?"

Steve dropped a HYDRA ASSAULT RIFLE on the table causing .

We looked at him. 

My jaw dropped at the weapon "what the hell?"

Steve " PHASE 2 is SHIELD uses the cube to make weapons.  Sorry, the computer was moving a little slow."

Fury "Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. This does not mean that we're..."

Tony " I'm sorry, Nick."

He moved the computer screen towards us which showed plans of  The weapons. 

Tony "What were you lying?"

Steve "I was wrong, director. The world hasn't changed a bit."

Bruce asked me "Did you know about this?"

I shook my head "of course not"

Nat "You wanna think about removing yourself from this environment, doctor?"

Bruce "I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed."

Nat " Loki's manipulating you."

Bruce "And you've been doing what exactly?"

Nat " You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes at you."

Bruce "Yes, and I'm not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy. I'd like to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction."

Fury pointed at Thor "Because of him. "

Thor asked stunned and confused " Me?"

Fury " Last year, Earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned."

Thro "My people want nothing but peace with your planet."

Fury " But you're not the only people out there, are you? And, you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, they can't be controlled."

Steve "Like you controlled the cube?"

Thor "Your work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies. It is the signal to all the realms that the earth is ready for a higher form of war."

 Tony asked confused "A higher form?"

Fury " You forced our hand. We had to come up with something."

Tony "Nuclear deterrent. 'Cause that always calms everything right down."

Fury snapped "Remind me again how you made your fortune, Stark?"

Steve "I'm sure if he still made weapons, Stark would be neck deep..."

Tony asked irritated " Wait! Wait! Hold on! How is this now about me?"

Steve asked confused " I'm sorry, isn't everything?"

Thor " I thought humans were more evolved than this."

Me "I am ashamed"

Fury asked irritated "Excuse me, did WE come to YOUR planet and blow stuff up?"

Thor "Did you always give your champions such mistrust?"

Nat "Are you all really that naive? S.H.I.E.L.D monitors potential threats."

Bruce " Captain America is on the threat potential watch list?"

Tony to Steve "You're on that list? Are you above or below angry bees?"

Steve snapped  "I swear to God, Stark, one more crack..."

Tony laughed "Threatening! I feel threatened!"

I rolled my eyes "brother !"
