In London. At a cathedral. 

It was after Peggy's funeral. Everyone had left but Steve. 

I walked over to him. 

Steve "When I came out of the ice, I thought everyone I had known was gone. Then I found out that she was alive. I was just lucky to have her."

I nodded "She had you back, too."

Steve "Who else signed?"

Me "Tony. Rhodey. Vision. And Nat is currently on her way to Sienna to sign"

Steve Rogers "Clint?"

Me " Says he's retired."

Steve "Wanda?"

Me " To Be Determined. "

He nodded. 

Me "why didn't you ask me if i signed them?"

Steve shook his head "you wouldn't"

Me "how can you be so sure?"

Steve "you were with Hydra for 20 years. i know your story. You'd never let someone else have that kind of power of you like Hydra had"

I nodded, looking down "you ain't gonna sign?"

Steve shook his head "i can't. I can't sign it"

I nodded.

Steve "what are you doing here?"

Me "I didn't want you to be alone"

He gave me a sad smile. 

I hugged him.

Back in the states.  Next day.
I looked at my pone with a dropped jaw. 

News reporter "A bomb hidden in a news van . . .  . . ripped through the UN building in Vienna. More than 70 people have been injured. At least 12 are dead, including Wakanda's King T'Chaka. Officials have released a video of a suspect who they have identified as James Buchanan Barnes, the Winter Soldier. The infamous HYDRA agent, linked to numerous acts of terrorism and political assassinations."

In front of the building. 
I called Nat since she had been at the shooting. 

Nat " Yeah?"

Me "You alright?"

Nat " I know how much Barnes means to you. I really do. Stay home. You'll only make this worse.

For all of us. Please."

Me " Are you saying you'll arrest me?"

Nat "No. Someone will. If you interfere. That's how it works now."

Me " If he's this far gone, Nat, I should be the one to bring him in."

Nat "Why?"

Me "Because I'm the one least likely to die trying."

Then i  hung up and called Steve. 

Voice mail, damn it. 

Me "Listen, Steve, i don't know what you are doing but i am just giving you a heads up. I'm gonna talk to him. I have to. See you"

Then i hung up. 

In Bucharest. At Bucky's apartment. 

I looked around in his apartment. It was simple. He was trying to have a normal life. 

He walked in and looked at me. 

Me "Hey, Soldier. Do you know me?"

Bucky "You're Hayley.  You are all over the news"
