Steve

At Tony's house. Days later. 

 Pepper, Morgan, Happy, Thor, Cap, Rhodey and i all watched Tony's holographic message being projected from his Iron Man helmet. 

Tony was sitting down recording the message "Everybody wants a happy ending, right? But it doesn't always roll that way. Maybe this time. I'm hoping if you play this back, it's in celebration. I hope families are reunited, I hope we get it back, and something like a normal version of the planet has been restored. If there ever was such a thing. God, what a world. Universe, now. If you told me ten years ago that we weren't alone, let alone, you know, to this extent, I mean, I wouldn't have been surprised. But come on, you know? The epic forces of darkness and light that have come into play. And, for better or worse, that's the reality Morgan's gonna have to find a way to grow up in. So I thought I'd probably better record a little greeting... In the case of an untimely death on my part. I mean, not that, death at any time isn't untimely. This time travel thing that we're gonna try and pull off tomorrow, it's– it's got me scratching my head about the survivability of it all. That's the thing. Then again, that's the hero gig. Part of the journey is the end.  What am I even trippin' for? Everything's gonna work out exactly the way it's supposed to. "

He walked over to Morgan and bend down, smiling "I love you 3,000."

Outside. 

Pepper layed the wreath on the lake. On top of the wreath was Tony's first arc reactor which Pepper had framed with the words "Proof That Tony Stark Has a Heart" . 

Morgan was hugging her mom.

Cap and i were behind them. 

Steve had an arm around me and i leaned against him. 

Everyone was here:  Peter Parker, May Parker, Thor, Bruce Banner, Doctor Strange, Wong, Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne, Janet Van Dyne, Hank Pym, Peter Quill, Nebula, Rocket, Teenage Groot, Drax, Mantis, T'Challa, Okoye, Shuri, Clint Barton & his family, Wanda Maximoff, Sam, Harley Keener, Secretary Ross, Maria Hill, Carol Danvers, and Nick Fury.

But this isn't only Tony's funeral. It's Nat's too. And without her sacrifice who half of the people that are here now wouldn't be here right now.

I was leaning against a tree, trying to calm down. 

Suddenly i heard behind me "hey"

I turned around surprised ""what are you doing here? You and Tony weren't exactly on good terms"

Bucky shook his head "well, I am not here for him"

I looked at him surprised.

 Bucky "I am here for you."

I looked down. 

Bucky put a hand on my shoulder  "I wanna be there for you, Hayley. I am here, okay?"

I looked at him in tears "He's dead. My little brother is dead, Bucky"

He hugged me.

Bruce, Steve, Sam, Bucky and i were standing in a circle. 

Bruce "Now, remember– You have to return the stones to the exact moment you got them. Or you're gonna open up a bunch of nasty alternative realities."

Steve "Don't worry, Bruce. Clip all the branches."

Bruce "You know, I tried. When I had the gauntlet, the stones, I really tried to bring her back. I miss her, man."

I nodded. 

Sam "You know, if you want, I can come with you."

Steve put a hand on Sam's shoulder " You're a good man, Sam. This one's on me, though."

Sam nodded. 

Steve walked over to Bucky " Don't do anything stupid 'till I get back."

Bucky gave him a sad smile "How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you."

They hugged each other. 

Bucky "Gonna miss you, Buddy."

Steve looked at him " It's gonna be okay, Buck."

Then he looked at me. 

Me "are you sure, Steve?"

Steve nodded "i am. "

I gave him a sad smile and hugged him. 

Steve hugged me back.

Steve stepped onto the platform. 

Sam " How long is this gonna take?"

Bruce "For him? As long as he needs. For us? Five seconds.  Ready, Cap? Alright. We'll meet you back here, okay?"

Steve nodded "You bet."

Bruce " Going quantum. Three, two, one–"

Steve disappeared. 

Bruce " And returning in, five, four, three, two, one–"

He didn't show up again. 

Sam asked confused "Where is he?"

Bruce panicked "I don't know. He blew right by his time stamp. He should be here."

I looked around and saw an old Steve sitting on a bench facing the lake. 

Sam yelled " Get him the hell back!"

Me "Sam"

He looked at me. 

Bucky nodded over to the old looking Steve. 

Sam froze.

Sam walked back to us and i walked over to Steve and sat down next to him. 

Me "how has it been, Steve?"

Steve "It was beautiful."

I nodded " I'm happy for you. Truly."

Steve eyed me "what is it?"

Me "I don't think I can do this without you, Cap. I just lost Tony, I just.."

Cap gave me a smile "you can. Because you are not alone."

I looked at him.

Cap "you are Santana-"

I shook my head "Santana died with Tony"

Cap "Santana didn't die. And Tony didn't die either. He may  physically not be here but he will always stay alive in your memories. "

I looked at him in tears.

 Cap "and so will I"

 I looked back and my eyes fell on Bucky who was watching us.

Cap "He will need you. You will need each other"

Me "He needs to focus on redeem himself first "

Cap "He loves you, Hayley"

I looked at him, surprised.

Cap nodded "He does. He's my best friend and I know him like the back of my head. He loves you"

I gave him a soft smile "and I love him too"

Cap nodded "I know"

Then I looked at the shield who was sitting next to him "what are you gonna do with that?"

Cap grabbed the shield and looked at me "it's Sam's now"

I froze "what? are you sure?"

Cap nodded "yeah, though he told me to give it to you. He wants you to give it to him once he earned the shield"

I looked back to Sam who nodded. 

Then i looked at Steve, in tears. 

Steve gave me a soft smile. 

Me "you will be missed, Captain America"

then i leaned my head against shoulder.
