*Colena's POV*

The grip tightened around my arm as I connected my eyes with Niall,  trapped on the other side of the gate. I was pulled inside the house, and the door was slammed behind me. I breathed in the familiar smell of this old house, and all the memories began to fill in through my mind. That was taken out pretty fast though as I was met face to face to my parents. Well, at least who I thought were my parents.

Everything was silent, as I met eye contact with everyone. My mom's green eyes seemed to just bear into mine. She had so much emotion in her, that it showed through her eyes. She kept a straight face, without the slightest happiness.

My dad seemed to show some feeling, instead of being a Grinch. His eyes were bright and looked full of life, almost like he was happy to see me.

Then I looked over to who still had their grip on my arm. Her eyes matched mine. A medium to dark blue. Her hair rested behind her shoulders, reaching all the way down to her waist, the same dark color as mine.

I couldn't help my keep eye contact with her. I can see what the boys were talking about when they said she was a spitting image of me. She reached only about an inch taller than me, keeping me from feeling like I don't have control.

Our contact was broken apart when my 'mother' spoke up.

"What a pleasant surprise Colena. Didn't expect to see you here."

I tugged my arm out of the grip, and walked a few steps closer.

"The feeling's mutual."

She folded her arms, and kept her eyes on me like I was her prey.

"What are you doing here?"

"What do you think? You think I'm that stupid? I know what's been going on! There's been reporters outside the house for the past week!"

I walked over to the mantle where I had the camera, and ripped it off.

"You see this?!" I held the camera from a wire in front of her face. "This is how I know what's been going on you cold-hearted bitch."

I could see her jaws clench, and she swapped the camera out of my hand.

I felt a little scared inside, having her being a few inches taller due to her Prada heels, that she wouldn't go anywhere without.

She held the camera in her palm, and then continued to throw it on the ground and stomp on it with her heel. She grabbed me by my wrist and dragged me over and sat me down on the couch.

I looked back over at the woman who hasn't stopped staring at me since I got here.

"What do you want?" I snapped at her. I didn't really mean it to sound mean, but there isn't a way to say that without it sounding like a jerk.

My mom butted in before she could even begin to talk.

"What are you doing here?"

I looked back at my mom and felt the anger rising.

"Why do you think? Do you honestly think I'm here because I miss you guys or something? I set up that camera for a reason, mom! I saw what was happening on the news! I saw her!" I pointed over to Jade. "You don't think I'd notice anything suspicious? I'm not stupid!"

She pointed her finger at me while she talked. "It's none of your business what's going on here! You left anyways!"

I sat there speechless. It was true. I left. Maybe it wasn't my business, but I knew it had something to do with me.

"I think she deserves to know by now. She's seventeen." Jade spoke up.

My moms eyes left mine, and connected with Jade's.

"She doesn't need to know."

My heart was starting to beat faster. "Know what?"

"She's not a child anymore!" She tried to reason with my mom.

"What's going on?" I wanted to get into this. I turned around to my dad who was just standing there, not wanting to get involved. "Dad?"

I looked up from the ground and shook his head.

"She has a right to know!"

"Say's who?"

"Says me!"

"You're the one who got rid of her anyways!" My mom got wide eyed and covered up her mouth. That was something she didn't want to say.

"Got rid of me?" I questioned.

"No. No one got rid of anything." She tried reassuring me.

"Mom stop, I want the fucking truth."

"You don't need to."

"Carmen." My dad finally spoke up. "She needs to know."

"Know what!?" I felt as if I was on the verge of exploding. I was so confused on what was going on. It's about me, and it's my life so I deserve to know..right?

My mom took a big sigh and she didn't want to tell me, I could tell.

I heard my dad lean off of the wall behind and start walking closer. He put his hand on my head, and pulled my beanie off, revealing the results of chemotherapy.

My mom finally got enough courage to actually tell me something.

"You're not ours."

"Not yours? What do you mean?"

"Jade's your mom. Your real mom."

I didn't even want to look at the woman who I've just been told was my mom. I felt relieved that I finally got some truth, but yet so angry, as I'm learning that my life has most likely been one giant lie.

"You were adopted Cole...sort of."

"Sort of?!"

"You were taken away from Jade when you were born. Your dad was involved in a very confidential government test, and they needed a child for...experiments. When you were little, we took you in, and ever since, you've been going through injections."

I was surprised at how calm I had become. "What kind of injections?"

"Cells. You were the experiment to test if it's possible to inject cancerous cells into a body without being rejected."

"So you guys are the reason I have leukemia?!"

"Cole, calm down."

"No I will not calm down! You guys are the reason my life is ruined! I didn't ask for you guys to use me! I'm done!" I started walking towards the door. I wanted to leave. I wanted to go back to London with the boys.

"Colena Jade, you get back here right now!"

"What are you going to do? Inject me?"

I opened the door, and slammed it behind me. I rushed down the concrete steps and fast as I could, as I could feel tears beginning to form. I had mentally promised myself before I came that no matter what was going to happen that I wouldn't cry, but it turns out like that wasn't going to happen, as it was too late.

I heard the gate lock, but I was going to get out whether they wanted me to or not. I saw that Niall was no longer around, and had no clue where he could be, but I hoped that he went back to the hotel. I started climbing the gate, and jumped off the top. I wasn't going to get a taxi out here without calling, so I just ran. I was used to it. It's what I always do: Run away from anything that could ruin me.
