I stopped dead in my tracks and I felt completely frozen. I felt a lump in my throat, and stopped breathing.

No, no, no this can't be happening.

I felt Niall's grip on my shoulders and knew he was going into his protective mode.

Roger laughed heartily and looked at both of us.

"I see you've got yourself a body guard, do you?"

Neither of us said a word and we were both in shock. I let out a shaky breathe, and I knew Niall felt it against the back of his neck.

"Alright, if you're gonna make this difficult on me," Roger said while reaching into his coat and pulling out a pistol.

What is it with all the guns lately?

"Come on, inside," he waved the gun and we both went back inside the room.

I sat down on the bed, and Niall was still in front of me. I mentally knew that a nurse or doctor would come rushing by any minute. After I had ripped the pulse monitor, the machine flatlined, and each is monitored on a screen at the desk. Someone had to have seen it by now.

I swallowed the lump in my throat, and held onto the back of Niall's shirt for dear life. I didn't know what move Roger was going to pull next, and I didn't want to know.

"Now, I don't want any problems, alright?" Roger asked.

"Alright?!" He yelled when I didn't respond.

I slowly nodded and bit down hard on my lip. My whole body was shaking.

"Now, either you're going to come back with me, or I wouldn't mine plugging a bullet into your other collarbone."

I felt tears rising in my eyes.

"In fact, I wouldn't mind aiming a little lower!"

"What do you want with me?" I managed to ask him.

"I want you to come back with me."

I shook my head.

"I'm not going with you."

He pulled back the hammer on the pistol.

"Excuse me? What was that?"

I looked to my left, and saw a stunned nurse standing just outside my door. I flashed my eyes away, and she took off running down the hall.

"I'm not going with you."

I pulled myself from behind Niall and stood up. I wasn't going to be scared of him anymore. I had spent about 15 years being terrified of this man, and it was about time it ended. I didn't care that he was pointing a gun right at my heart, because there was something deep down in me that told me he wasn't going to do it. I don't know what it was, but it stuck with me.

"What are you doing?" I heard Niall whisper behind me.

It was within the next few seconds that I heard an alarm go off. They were putting the hospital under lockdown. Soon enough there would be security guards around us, and it was only just a matter of seconds.
