Annabeth knew that colored leaves could not determine the fact if a certain boy liked her, but she did it anyway.

You stupid girl, her mind scolded her, this doesn't do anything for you! This is what the Aphrodite kids would do!

"He loves me." She said, plucking the first petal off.

"He loves me not." She plucked off another petal.

"He loves me." Another petal was plucked and fell to the ground.

"He loves me not." Another dead petal joined the others on the ground.

"He loves me." One more petal to go. Annabeth frowned, knowing that the next and last petal would be "He loves me not".

Before Annabeth could pick the next petal off the flower, a voice asked, "What are you doing?"

Annabeth turned around and Percy stood before her, his face had an expression of confusion. Annabeth's cheeks flushed. She looked down at the flower.

"Uh......." She trailed off.

"Oh, c'mon, it can't be that bad!" Percy exclaimed, sitting next to her.

Annabeth sighed. "I was seeing if a certain someone liked me through the help of a flower." She held up the flower for him to see.

"Don't the Aphrodite kids do that?" He asked her.

Annabeth sighed again. "Yeah, but I decided to...y'know what, never mind." Annabeth got up to leave but Percy grabbed her wrist. She looked down at him quizzically.

"Percy? What's wrong?" She asked him.

"I wanted to know who the person is that you were using the flower to find out if they liked you or not." Percy replied. Annabeth blushed and she sat back down, fearing the inevitable.

"W-well, it's.......um....." She stammered.

"Is it Luke?" He asked her.

"No! No, no, it's not him."

"Then, who is it?"

"It's.....it's you, Seaweed Brain. Happy?" She got up, totally embarrassed because he's staring at her with a light dusting of pink on his cheeks.

"Wait! Annabeth!" Percy said, scrambling to get up. Annabeth sighed and looked back at Percy.

"You don't need a flower to tell you how I feel about you." Percy said.

"Really? I didn't know that." Annabeth drawled. "But, seriously, Seaweed Brain, it's okay if you- what are you doing?"

Percy had cupped Annabeth's cheek. Annabeth's breath hitched in her throat.

"Showing you how I feel about you." He whispered, his lips drawing nearer to her lips. His eyes were starting to flutter closed.

Instead of pulling away, Annabeth did the same as him. Percy closed the gap quickly and they shared their first kiss.

Annabeth dropped the flower, forgetting about it completely, because her mind was too fogged up with the reality of Percy's lips on hers and she was aware that her cheeks were burning.

Percy pulled away first and Annabeth fluttered open her eyes. His seaweed green eyes bore into her stormy gray ones. He touched his forehead with hers.

"Does that answer how I feel about you?" He whispered.
"Yes," she replied.
