(A/N: Hey guys!!! So, I've recently checked the hits on this series and we are at over four thousand reads! Oh my God! This is so amazing, I can't thank you guys enough. I love all of you readers and everyone who comments and votes. Seeing those notifications really brighten my day. In honor of our over four thousand mark of hits, I have decided to write another Percabeth fluff one-shot. (Surprising, I know.) But this time I have so much inspiration that I might write two fanfictions in one break! OMG! So, I dedicate this one-shot to my faithful audience that are hardcore Percabeth shippers and hardcore romance trash.
I do not own any of the Percy Jackson characters as created by Rick Riordan.
Thank you so much and enjoy!)
Tonight was not my night. I closed my eyes in hopes of pitiful sleep. The crash of thunder sounded right after the flash of lightning. Just my luck. On the day that Percy returned Zeus's thunderbolt to Olympus twelve years ago, the King of the gods decided to serve up a nice storm. Lovely, isn't it?
I turned to face the partner in my bed. His eyes were closed, his hair a tangled mess, and his face serene. For once, his face was peaceful. No nightmares about Tartarus night. Thank the gods. His breaths were deep, quiet, and rhythmic. It was a sight to watch him. I smiled softly as I stared at Percy.
Gods, he was handsome.
On his hand glittered a golden band that I had placed on him not too long ago, about a year ago to be exact. My left hand had one beautiful diamond ring on it and the other had one beautiful gold wedding band. I stared at them as the flashback started.
~~~~
"Annabeth, take this ring as a sign of my love and devotion to you. Forever and always, I will cherish you and this love that we share. I will be at your side until death do us part." Percy said as he slid a golden band on my left finger. His seaweed green eyes never left my gaze and his stare was so intense, it made my heart do flips in my chest. The ring settled on top of the diamond ring that already sat on my hand.
~~~
CRASH! BOOM! The thunder sounded once again.
A cry erupted from down" the hall. I sighed and I silently rolled out of the covers. I padded my way down the hallway of the tiny apartment that we rented out. I reached the room where the cry was coming from. The door was ajar and I pushed it so I could see inside. The curtains were drawn and the moonlight streamed through one crack in from where the curtains met. There was a little light that illuminated the room. The room was painted a pastel green with gray stripes. There were books on a bookshelf, classics like Dr. Seuss's "The Cat in the Hat" and "The Lorax". There was a crib, there was a rocking chair, a changing table, and a couple of carpets. The room was comfy and cozy, the way I always wanted it to be.
I heard a cry from the crib and I headed over to it. I reached the crib and I saw the wriggling figure of a baby. My baby, for that matter. He was an angel. He had black hair; and when he opened his eyes, they were the same silvery gray as my own. He had pale skin. He was the most beautiful thing in this world to me. I scooped him up and held him close to my chest.
"Shh..." I cooed, "shh...it's okay. Mommy's here."
I bounced up and down, trying to calm him down. He still whimpered quietly. I reminisced as I looked at my son.
~~~
"Here you are, Mrs. Jackson." the nurse said, handing my baby to me. I reached out, and pulled him to my chest. My hair was matted with sweat and my voice was raw, but in that moment, tears pricked my eyes.
"Hello, my love," I whispered to him. One tear fell from my eyes. My voiced croaked, but I didn't care in that moment. He was the most gorgeous thing ever. Percy leaned over and looked at him.
"He's beautiful," he whispered to the baby. He kissed my sweaty forehead and I smiled weakly.
"What should we name him?" I asked.
"Well, what do you think we should name him?" Percy asked in reply
"I don't know, he is an angel though."
"How about Theodore? Daren? Michael? Gabriel? Benjamin?"
"Benjamin sounds perfect." I told him, looking away from the child in my arms to my husband. "You get to choose the middle name."
"Theodore. Benjamin Theodore Jackson. It has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?"
"It does. That's the name I want."
"Then it's the name he'll get."
~~~
"Annabeth?" I heard a voice croak behind me. I was shocked out of my reverie and I spun around with Benjamin close to my chest. I relaxed a little when I saw Percy leaning on the doorway. Percy's eyes were glazed over and his hair messy, making it look like he stumbled out of bed.
"Percy! You scared me! What are you doing up?" I asked him quietly, not to disturb Benjamin.
"I could ask the same thing to you."
"I couldn't sleep, Percy. And Ben was crying, so I went to comfort him."
"Nightmares?" Percy strode up to me and put his hands on my shoulders.
"No, it's just this thunderstorm. Why are you up anyway?"
"I felt a shift in the bed and I woke up. I found you in here."
I sighed and looked down at Benjamin. "You don't have to worry about me, you know."
"Yes, I do." He replied, putting his hand underneath my chin and tilted it so that I had to look straight into his eyes. "Annabeth, you are the love of my life, my wife, and the mother of my child. I think I have a right to worry."
"I'm fine, Percy. I really am."
"You're lying to me, Annabeth. You're obviously exhausted. You've barely slept this entire week. Give Benjamin to me, go and sleep." Percy said.
I sighed. "Okay..."
I handed over Benjamin to his father. I kissed him on the forehead and I kissed Percy on the lips.
"Goodnight, Mrs. Jackson." Percy mumbled to me after I pulled away.
"Goodnight, Mr. Jackson." I replied. I walked away from my two boys. I stopped at the doorway, and looked at them. Percy was whispering to Ben as he bounced a little and swayed.
I smiled and watched them for a couple more seconds. I made my way quietly to our room. I fell on the bed, snuggled into the covers, and the world went black.
(A/N: How was that one? Don't worry, a New Years Eve one will come out soon. I promise to make it super adorable. Oh, who am I kidding? All of my works are adorable! (That's a bit egotistical, but oh well.) 4
I was feeling super maternal today so I produced this. I hope you liked it! I sure love it.
