Annabeth had fallen asleep in my arms a couple of hours ago. She was sleeping peacefully and I started to brush the pieces of hair that had fallen in front of her face.

Soon, she started to squirm and her eyebrows scrunched together. She started murmuring about monsters and not being able to see. Suddenly, Annabeth's eyes opened after a few minutes and she screamed.

"PERCY!" She screamed. Her eyes darted around frantically and then they landed on me. Tears were in her stormy gray eyes and she flung her arms around my neck.

"P-Percy," she said through choked sobs.
"Shh," I said, petting her hair soothingly. "It's okay. I'm here."
"I-it was T-t-Tartarus." She stammered.
"It's okay. You're safe. Shh, you're safe. I'm here. You're safe." I repeated this mantra until she calmed down.

"Percy?"
"Yes?"
She turned to face me. "Will you abandon me?"
"Never ever." Annabeth seemed satisfied with my answer, in which I said whole heartedly.

"You should go back to sleep." I told her. Instead of arguing, she settled back into my arms and she fell back asleep. And with the soothing sounds of her light snores, I fell asleep as well.
