A Whole New World

(A/N: Hey guys! First of all, Happy New Year! I know it's like almost the end of January but since this is the first thing I've posted in 2016, I might as well say it right now. 

I totally forgot about the New Years one-shot and I feel so bad. So, I'm going to make it up to you people right now. I hope you all like it! I wrote it ages ago and I really like it and I'm going to use it right here. One of my great friends is on here so I'm going to give her credit for helping me write this because I originally wrote it for her. A little shoutout to keepsmilingangel22. You go girl! Of course I'm tweaking it a bit to fit Percy Jackson, but whatever.

And I'm going to give credit to Disney for a song that I will be using in this fanfiction. You'll see why in a  second. And of course, I give credit to Rick Riordan. This fanfiction will take place after Battle of the Labyrinth but before the events of Last Olympian.

Camp Half-Blood was hosting a Karaoke party that everyone in Camp Half-Blood were invited to for New Years. And every single person showed up. Everyone was crowded around the fire pit. Including Percy Jackson. Annabeth groaned internally. Why couldn't she avoid him? He'd been everywhere she was during the day, why couldn't he just go take a nap in his Cabin? But when we made eye contact, he just smiled and waved and I returned it full heartedly. 

You're such a hypocrite, my conscience said. 

No really, I bit back. 

Silena, by far the most popular girl in Camp Half-Blood, stood in the center to gain everyone's attention and she was holding a black bowler hat. "Hello, everyone! Thank you so much for coming! Are you ready to have some fun?!" 

Everyone screamed, "YES!" 

"I can't hear you!" Selena cupped a hand to her ear. "ARE YOU READY TO HAVE SOME FUN?!"

"YEEEESSS!" everyone screamed back. Silena looked satisfied with everyone's progress; at random, she pulls two names.. The fire was roaring with all of the high energy that everyone was feeling. 

The first two: Travis and Connor Stoll, the goofiest and most troublemaking duo ever. They both hopped on stage, hyper as Hades and picked the most annoying song ever: No One by Alicia Keys. It wasn't like Annabeth didn't like the song, it was just that everyone would sing it and it got annoying. They sung it badly on purpose and surprisingly, the whole of Camp-Halfblood roars with laughter, including the Ares Cabin. They were smirking, but they looked amused nonetheless. 

The party moved as two people hop on stage to sing some silly song. Pair after pair after pair. Then, Silena came up on stage and pulled two slips of paper out of the hat, "Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson." 

Annabeth blushed furiously as all eyes landed on her or Percy. She awkwardly stood up along with Percy and walked up to the "stage" in front of the fire. Percy scrolled through the song list, which look longer than it probably should have. Percy clicked on a title that she would have never expected him to click. 

"A Whole New World?" She asked. "You like Aladdin?"

"Yeah, everyone likes Aladdin." Percy replied, as he handed her the microphone.

Annabeth wished she could shrink and disappear.

Malcolm will never let me hear the end of this...

The music started up and everyone was strangely silent. I tried to ignore the feeling of dread rising in my chest.
