(A/N: Hey guys! I'm back! So, I just wanted to let you know that I will update this story whenever possible. This story will not be put on hiatus, thank God, but it won't be my top priority for a while. I haven't been getting any good ideas lately and I'm working on three stories that are halfway done. I had gotten an idea today so I decided to write it down.
I hope you enjoy it! And I really hope that I'm not copying anyone else with this one-shot. I was inspired to write this from a prompt on Tumblr. This is going to be a modern AU where Athena and Poseidon are both Annabeth's and Percy's parents. Bobby and Matthew are Annabeth's blood brothers.
I do not own any of Rick Riordan's characters.)
Annabeth's Perspective:
Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Mom's going to kill me. Where did they go? I can't call them, they're only ten! Mom hasn't gotten them cell phones yet!
I was in so much trouble. I was looking for my twin brothers, Bobby and Matthew. They were with me in Ikea and I was going to get them something from the cafeteria there. As soon as I turned around to ask them how they felt about that, they were gone!
I've been looking for thirty minutes and I'm on the verge of crying. I didn't want to go to Customer Service because if Mom found out, she would ground me for life! She was in the store too, looking for things to build a crate for our dog, Owl. Strange name, I know.
I couldn't call my brothers, they didn't have cell phones. Mom wouldn't allow it. Even if they did, they wouldn't pick up. If they did pick up, they would tell me that they're in Aisle Three when they're really in Aisle Twenty.
Dad wasn't in Ikea, he was at work, doing his thing.
Ikea was a HUGE store and I've only scoured the first half on the first floor.
Ugh, I am so dead.
When I couldn't find them for another two minutes, I pulled out my phone and I started dialing. I was looking down at my screen, I hoped that I wouldn't bump into anyone. No suck luck. I bumped into someone and I fell on my butt, my phone clattered out of my hand.
"Oh my God! I am so sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going." I said, helping pick up everything that flew out of the stranger's hands. Thankfully, they were all plastic and nothing broke.
"No, no. It's okay." he replied. He looked up and I saw that he had seaweed green eyes, jet black hair that was all tousled, and he had tanned skin; it seemed like he would spend everyday at the beach. He wore a Monterey Bay Aquarium shirt and khaki shorts with some Vans. His socks were the super huge Nike ones that would go up to your mid-calf. He looked around my age, seventeen.
"No, really. I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going and I-" I stopped saying what I was saying because I noticed that he was looking at me. I looked up at him. I wasn't wearing anything interesting. I was wearing the shirt from my science camp during the summer, or as my twin brothers called it: "Nerd Camp". I was also wearing some jean shorts that weren't too revealing and some gray Converse.
"Are you alright?" he asked. "You look worried sick."
I thought for a moment and I decided that it wouldn't hurt to explain my situation to this guy that I bumped into.
"Um, no, I'm not. I was with my brothers in the store and I was suggesting to go and get something at the cafeteria. When I turned around to ask them if they should, they disappeared. I've been looking for-" I checked the time on my phone- "thirty-two minutes."
