I never thought I would enjoy his company that much. We ride around the city for about an hour then he taught me how to ride it. It took me sometime to learn but at the end I learnt it well. What can I say I am a fast learner. So now I am riding bike and matt is sitting behind me. We are going back to home.
"Wow you are good" he complimented me.
"Well thanks" I said with a smirk.
"Now that we are friends so I can borrow your bike sometimes. Right?" I asked him casually.
"You know you are testing my patience a lot" he said.
I smiled at that. I know he love his bike a lot, he has never let anyone touch it. So it's a big thing that he has let me ride it.
"Fine I will not push it" I said finally.
"Good girl" he teased.
"You can ride it as long as I am with you but you are not allowed to ride it alone" he said, I can sense slight concern in his voice.
"Oh come on, you know I have learnt it pretty good. You don't have to worry about me getting in an accident. I will not let anything happen to your bike" I told him
"I am more worried about you" he murmured slightly.
"What?" I asked not sure if I heard right.
"Nothing, still you will only ride this bike with me. That's final" he said stubbornly.
"Okay whatever" I said and at last we were back at his home.
We hopped out of bike and then we went inside the house.
"You are back, I was waiting for you guys. I saw you two going out" Elizabeth came to us as she hugged and kissed my cheeks.
"And you young lady will never sit on that thing again. I don't want to see my other kid too on that dangerous thing. One is enough" she said with worry.
"Hey it was fun Beth you know you should also ride on that. You will love it" I said to which she scowled
"No way" she said somewhat scared.
Both Matt and I laugh at her horrified expressions.
"Okay I am going to my room. Good night" he said and then kissed his mother's cheek and winked at me before going upstairs to his room.
"Come I made lasagna today" she said and pulled me towards kichen.
I sat in the chair as she served me mouthwatering lasagna. It tasted heavenly to which I moaned.
"It's delicious Beth" I told her.
She sat beside me on the chair and smiled at me. As I was finishing my plate she was fiddling with her fingers. She want to say something but she is nervous.
"Okay say it" I turned towards her after finishing.
"I uh your mother came to me tomorrow. She wanted me to talk to you about" she stopped but I know what my mother told her. She know that I can never say no to Beth, so she is trying to use her to persuade me to work for her.
"And you want me to work with her?" I asked her.
"No I want you to do whatever your heart wants to. I will never force you to do something you don't like. But when she told me that you are not planning to do anything, I couldn't believe her. Is that true?" She asked, I can sense she is disappointed.
"No I just said that to piss them off. I want to do something of my own, not something they want me to do. " I told her.
"You know how much I am proud of you?" She said. It was a rhetorical question.
I smiled at her.
"But your best friend is not making it easy for me" I said.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
I told her everything about what my mother told me.
"What can I say. Your mother is very stubborn women. She is not leaving you with a choice. But I know she is doing this all so it can be easy for you if you will work with her. I can't say she is wrong but I can also not say that she is right. She just wants the best for you. " She told me.
"She only wants the best for her" I huffed.
"She really loves you. She just don't know how to show it" Beth always say that whenever I am angry at my mother.
I didn't speak so she changed the topic."You know you will find a very good job and you will be a very successful young lady" she said giving me a sweet smile.
"Of course" I said and hugged her.
"Why are you not my mother instead of her?" I complained to which she giggled.
"You know I can still be your mother" she said playfully. I pulled out of her arms to look at her smiling face.
"How?" I asked.
"As you know I have two sons, you can marry either one of them then I will be your mother in law. You will have a mother and I will have a daughter." She told me smiling.
I looked at her dumbfounded.
"I love both of my sons but I will prefer Ryan more. He is caring and loving, he will take care of you. I know matt can also take care of you but he is a little careless so I will stick with Ryan.." as she was rambling, I stopped her.
"Okay okay that's enough. I wasn't expecting that from you" I said shocked, not sure If she is serious or just joking.
"Ewww and Matt no way, yes we have upgraded to being 'friends' but I would draw the line here and about Ryan he is 5 years older than me and he is Chris's best friend." I told her.
"So what you had a crush on him when you were 13" she said winking at me.
"Bethhhh I was kid back then. And he was always caring towards me so I liked him but not anything more" I murmured, my cheeks tinting red.
Really I am blushing? What's happening?
Yes I had a crush on him but it was eight years back. And after that he went to New York. I haven't met him since then.
"Okay okay I am just kidding" she said laughing at my red face.
"Seriously that was a very very bad joke" I crossed my arms in front of my chest. Then when I look at her laughing, I also started laughing. We laughed for a while when we stopped I told her.
"Okay I gotta go its getting late" I said and kissed her forehead. Then I started walking towards main door, she followed me to the door.
"This offer is still up." She said and then winked at me again.
God this woman. I smiled.
"No thanks." I said.
"And yes Ryan is coming back next week. We are throwing a party next week. So you will meet him there" she told me when I was going to my house.
Ryan is coming. What?
