Solace (Complete)

16. Hello brother

I went straight to Chris's penthouse, I just hope he is there. I had spare keys, he gave me those just in case I need them. So I used them and went inside. I called for him once I was in his living room.

"Chris"

"Hey are you there?" I said.

I heard some footsteps and turned around, there he was.

"Hello brother" I waved at him.

"What are you doing here?"  He said. I can see clearly he is angry.

"Just wanted to catch up. You were away for so many days." I said.

"I came back last week" he pointed.

"Oh OK. Then why didn't you came to meet me" I said.

"Actually I went home but you weren't there. You were apparently at your office" he said quoting 'office'.

"Would you explain to me now or I am not important enough to know. But I think that's the truth, you didn't thought I am worthy of knowing what's going in your life. And how my little sister is doing a job of a personal assistant that too in my best friend office" he said too calmly.

"Hey look I am sorry, things were not how it seems like " I said dejected.

"Then explain" he said and sat at the couch waiting for me to tell him everything.

I told him everything about mom's condition to me finding job and get rejected and about Elizabeth proposing that job. He wasn't happy at all but now his anger is somewhat less than before.

"Are you mad at me still?" I asked him sitting beside him.

"Cal I am not mad at you, I can never be. I am just upset with you. Why did not tell me all of this before? I always told I am on call away. Yes I know I was out of city but still..."  He stopped and thought for a moment then looked at me suddenly realising something.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Mom told dad to send me on this business trip because she knew I would help you" he told me.

I shook my head, I expect that from mom. She gets what she want by hook or by crook.

"Now that I am here you don't have to work there. If you need money then tell me" he said. I smiled at him.

"No it's not that, I want to continue this job until I plan what I want to do next " I said.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"Yes and Ryan is not that strict boss" I told him.

"I can't believe it but if you want I can beat him for you" he grinned.

"Sure" we both started laughing.

"Now can I get my hug" I pouted.

"Ofcourse my little one" he said and hugged me.

"I missed you" I told him.

"Aww I missed you too" he cooed and then started tickling me.

"Hey st.. stop" I said I between my laughters.

After a moment or so he stopped and pecked my forehead.

"Let's have dinner at our favourite place" he told me.

After dinner I went home, he gave me one of his credit card. So now I am rich again. I love my brother, and I am also relieved  that he is not upset with me anymore. Finally I can sleep in peace now that everything is sorted.
