Adopted by Dan and Phil

Friends? Friends.

Ella's jaw hung wide open, her breath caught in her throat. She wanted to let out an incredible scream but her mouth wouldn't allow her. Ella started to freak out. Finally allowing herself, she let out an insane phan-girl giggle. She jolted up and bounced around the room singing, "Phan" on repeat.

Not even calming herself, she continued for ten more minutes.
"I knew it!" She giggled insanely.
Rushing over to her phone, she stared at the picture with a huge grin. She had never smiled so hard. Then suddenly she paused. A strange feeling lay in the pit of her stomach.
"Wait..." She whispered to herself. "If they-, then why did Dan-?And why was Phil?"

Slowly, she came to realization that something must have gone wrong. She exhaled and her joy slowly faded. At once all of the horrid emotions from before came rushing back to her. Ella crawled onto her bed, sank her head into her pillow and fluttered her eyes shut. She bit down hard on her lip, tasting blood. She knew she promised not to do this to herself. For her mothers sake- she just wanted to try and be happy.

But fate had not been kind. Since already, a negative article had been written of her. She squeezed her eyes as hard as she could, silver tears leaked down her cheeks and stained the a pillow. Her thoughts were now a battlefield between sadness and phan. And currently; sadness was winning.

Dan's Pov

Dan jumped back slightly when the door slammed shut. He then put his head in his hands and lead up against the wall.
"Idiot." He muttered under his breath.
Dan sent his fist slamming into the wall, making a large thump. He squeaked when his hand made contact with the wall and flinched back. He caressed his injured hand with his own and sighed.

He flopped to the ground and lay face down on the floor. His whole body hurt. He couldn't believe he had done that to Phil. For months he had been dreaming of that moment, hoping Phil would feel the same. But when it happened; he never wanted it to end. He thought it would ruin their friendship or Phil would soon forget of him. Multiple scenarios which ended badly wound their way in his mind. That was why he moved away. But once he saw the hurt in Phil's eyes; he regretted his actions instantly. He couldn't even look at Phil. He had to get away. Dan was so upset with himself, he had been a coward.

What felt like hours of lying on the floor. Dan managed to haul himself up and take a deep breath in.
"I'll tell him." He said determinedly. "I'll apologize and I'll tell him."
Gathering all his courage, he walked up to his room door and opened it. Hoping to find Phil somewhere in the apartment, to his surprise, Phil was just passing outside.

"Phil!" Dan exclaimed.
"Oh, hey Dan."
Dan put his hands behind his back and crossed his fingers.
"So about before. I want to tell you-"
"Dan." Phil smiled. "It's okay. It was wrong, I know it. I've moved on, It was a big mistake."
Dan's heart sank. Were these Phils true words?
"Friends?" Phil said, pulling a silly face and putting his hand out for a high-five.
Dan froze. He felt weak in the knees. '
'Was this what he wanted?' he thought.
Only a moment ago, Dan wanted to express himself to Phil. Yet now, he wanted to curl up in a ball and be alone. Maybe this was for the best. Maybe this was just how it was meant to be. No matter now much he regretted it; he couldn't change what he had done. He had one chance and he blew it. All because he wasn't sure, and, Dan hated himself for it. Pushing away all his feelings and trying his best to hide them, Dan glanced at the floor then back at Phil.
"Friends."
