"I am once again asking for your favorite scary movie, (Y/N)." A distorted voice spoke over the phone as (Y/N) read Salem's Lot quietly. "Why do you keep calling just to ask for my favorite horror film? You know I won't tell you." (Y/N) smiled as the voice whined on the other end, "Aw, come on! What do I need to do to get you to tell me?" Marking their page and setting the book aside, (Y/N) looked out the window, "you don't need to do anything, my guy. I just need to rewatch the ones in my not so organized bin before I can give you a legit response." The voice chuckled, most likely nodding as he responded, "ok, that's fair. You want to give your honest opinion, huh?" (Y/N) giggled at his understanding, "yeah! I wanna give you my honest opinion on the matter since you seem very inspired by its occupants amongst the genre. It wouldn't be fair to give a super fan a dishonest opinion, then I'd be the nimrod." The voice laughed, and (Y/N) smiled as they brought the basket of VHS tapes closer to them. "Well, how about I ask you a question?" The voice was silent, patiently waiting as (Y/N) looked through the tapes. "What's your favorite scary movie? You seem like an expert, so maybe you could throw some tips my way?" The voice whooped at that, then the two sat on the phone together for two more hours as the voice told (Y/N) all of his favorite scary movies.

"(Y/N)? You available right now?" The familiar voice, now known as Billy, had called quite frequently much to their delight. (Y/N) didn't have much friends, and definitely counted Billy as one. "Yeah, I'm available, Billy. What's up?" The rustling of a coat registered in (Y/N)'s ear, "are you going somewhere, Billy?" A nervous chuckle came from the other side of the phone, "yeah, about that.. I was going to ask if I could come over? And we could watch all your scary movies since it's summer break after all." (Y/N) quirked an eyebrow, "of course you can come over, Bills. Just asking though, why the coat?" Billy laughed as (Y/N) got their room set up for him. "Why not? It's light and comfortable to me. Also, I'll be over in a bit since it's not too far of a walking distance." (Y/N) nodded as the two said their goodbyes to each other. The phone call ended and (Y/N) went downstairs to greet Billy.

Visits became more frequent after that. He'd often bring Stu along with him, but this time he went by himself. He looked nervous as he stepped through the door, and that confused (Y/N) because Billy had always been this confident popular boy at the nearby school so seeing him nervous was very new to them. "Billy? What's wrong?" (Y/N) asked as they placed their hand on his back, easing him down on the family room couch beside them. Now, (Y/N) was usually the cuddly one in the friendship, holding onto Billy's arm and leaning on him. But this time, Billy curled into them, settling his head on their shoulder as they played with his hair. He relaxed at the acceptance, smiling to himself as (Y/N) started to sing to him. Sure, what they were singing were cheesy pop songs but he liked it anyway. He then tensed again, realizing he'd have to tell them about his secret crush sooner rather than later. So he built up his courage, then angled himself in a way where he could reach their lips. Confessions were whispered to one another, and the two properly shared (Y/N)'s first kiss.

It was about five months into the relationship when (Y/N) figured out the truth about Billy. They were mortified to learn that he was ghost face, and they also learned that before the two started talking properly, they were meant to be nothing more than a victim in Billy's sick-minded games. While this haunted (Y/N)'s thoughts for little more than a week, they surprisingly were ok with it after a while. They loved him all the same, even if he was extremely morbid in his hobbies with Stu. Just as long as the two didn't track blood into their house, (Y/N) didn't care.
