Piers (swsh) x reader

"C'mon kid, it looks like it's going to rain!" Piers called out to (Y/N), watching them crouch in the tall grass and hug a zigzagoon. They looked content in that moment, anything going on at home was out the window, focus solely on this soft zigzagoon who was kind enough to let (Y/N) hug it. Piers smiled slightly at the sight, opening the umbrella he brought with him. He held it above his head, coming over to (Y/N) and crouching down at their side. The umbrella shielded the two as it started to rain, and (Y/N) held their hand out beyond the cover. Piers quietly reached for the out stretched hand, holding it and bringing it back to cover. He continued to hold their hand, rubbing their knuckles as they leaned their head on his shoulder. He swapped his hands, using his now free hand to wrap around (Y/N)'s waist, watching as (Y/N) let the zigzagoon go. They buried their face into Piers' shoulder, yawning quietly as the sky turned a deep orange. "You ready to go back to Spikemuth? We can grab hot chocolate in Hammerlocke and see if Marnie's around." (Y/N) nodded sleepily, holding Piers' arm as he stood. They leaned their head on his arm, smiling peacefully as they walked back to the gates of Hammerlocke together. The guard at the gate nodded to the two before they climbed the stairs, entering Hammerlocke and immediately going for the cafe there. Piers got (Y/N) to sit down when he found a nice spot at a window, then went to the counter to get hot chocolate for himself and for (Y/N). When he returned to (Y/N), he saw them peacefully tucked in the chair, staring out the window sleepily before noticing Piers in the reflection. They looked back at him, blinking the sleep out of their eyes as he sat their cup in arms reach. He sat next to them, and (Y/N) took his shoulder, wrapping their arm around his right. Piers watched as (Y/N) took slow sips, lazy in their movements as they played with his fingers throughout. They were beautiful in the dim cafe lights, they shone in all the right spots, making (Y/N) look ethereal even in something as domestic as going to the cafe to hide from the rain. Feeling his eyes on them, (Y/N) looked up at Piers, smiling and poking his cheek as they took a sip of their hot chocolate. The two remained in the cafe even after they finished their hot chocolates, not yet ready to leave the sleepy atmosphere. When they were ready to head home though, Piers opened his umbrella. He tucked (Y/N) against him, arm around them as the two walked to Spikemuth. The door was open, Marnie waiting for them inside. She closed it after the two crossed over, taking (Y/N)'s hand as Piers brought them to their apartment. Piers watched (Y/N) and Marnie from the living room as he flopped down onto the couch, (Y/N) was making hot chocolate for Marnie. The atmosphere was peaceful, something Piers was easily getting used to now. He wanted this to be forever. It terrified him, but he wanted (Y/N) for forever. He then remembered the box in his night stand. He got up off the couch, going unnoticed by the two in the kitchen, heading to his shared room. If he didn't do it now, he didn't know the next time he'd be able to. In such a loving atmosphere, it would be no surprise to do it now. He opened the nightstand, grabbing the box and put it in his pocket. It was now or never, and he hoped to Arceus above that (Y/N) would say yes. When he returned, the two were still in the kitchen, except Marnie was looking back at him. She could tell what was happening, and kept (Y/N) distracted for a while more as Piers fixed himself up. He got down on one knee, then Marnie let (Y/N) turn around. To say they were surprised would be the understatement of the year, they were ecstatic as tears rolled down their cheeks. "Hey, (Y/N). I never thought this could happen, but whenever I think of my future, I see you in every frame. I want to share my future with you, ya know? I want you to be there for every step. But it all depends if you'd like to share yours with me. Would you want to share your future with me?" He knew he didn't need a response, seeing (Y/N)'s expression. They ran to him, pulling him into a hug and clutching onto his clothes while crying into his shoulder. "Of course I want to share my future with you, Piers!" They choked out, shifting back so they could snuggle to him. He held their hand, putting the ring on their ring finger then kissing it. Marnie was soon gestured over and the three clung onto each other happily. Piers brought (Y/N) in for a kiss on the lips then brought Marnie in for a kiss on the cheek. It was a good night in Spikemuth, definitely.
