Souda x Reader

Waking up in a classroom was not how (Y/N) wanted to start their Saturday, especially in a school that they didn't recognize. A gentle hand on their shoulder was the way they were awakened from their thoughts and directed their gaze to the person crouching beside them. Well, there was only one good thing about the situation, there was a familiar face. "Souda, how did you get here?" The sharp-toothed mechanic grinned at (Y/N) before pulling them into a hug, him nuzzling their hair, "I'm guessing (Y/N) woke here too?" (Y/N) nodded as Souda helped them stand on unsteady legs. Wrapping one of their arms around his shoulder, Souda assisted them in getting out of the classroom without falling over.
It took forever to get to the gymnasium, mostly because Souda couldn't walk properly. Well the duo were wobbly and unsteady so the two of them were falling everywhere. They were lucky to just get to the gym in one piece. (Y/N) stared at the gym full of people in terror, why were they getting this nasty feeling in the pit of their stomach? Souda could tell something was wrong, but played it off as his imagination and he brought (Y/N) to other students as he talked to them. (Y/N) could feel this uneasiness as well, but played it off until monokuma, the host of their so called "fantastical endeavor" introduced himself. Souda gripped (Y/N)'s hand as monokuma explained the endeavor: a game of murder. That's when the fear and panic set it, everyone understood the uneasiness from before now! Before shit could hit the fan, Souda grabbed (Y/N) and pulled them out of the gym, holding them close as he tried to calm himself and them down. "I-it calls that... a game? W-why?" (Y/N) mumbled to themselves as they buried their face into Souda's chest. He shrugged as he ran his fingers through their hair, "I don't know either, (Y/N), but just know that I'll never leave your side. Your mechanic's got you covered, we'll be ok." (Y/N) felt this sudden surge of comfort and nodded as they looked up at their mechanic, "yeah, I have you, and I'll keep you safe too so you have me as well. We'll keep each other safe. We got this." With this new confidence, the duo went looking for their dorms knowing they'd be here for a while.
