well it's been a moment- BUT IM BACK
ive been so busy with school and exams, since i'm in my final year of high school now it's gotten a lot more stressful i'm sorry for being ia :(

pov: you're able to see how many times your soulmate has smiled in their lifetime
"jesus christ" you heard the stupid dinging noise for the 8th time in the past half hour, meaning your soulmate has smiled yet again "does he ever stop smiling, give it a break" you groan, shoving your head in between your pillow, trying to muffle the noise. finally...peace

*ding*

you groan again. "fine fine i'll get ready for school, there are you happy" you were now beyond irritated as you look up at your ceiling.

you arrived in class, in your usual spot in the back corner of the classroom, an empty seat beside you. as you sat down, you heard the whispers from other students. this caused you to roll your eyes and put your earphones in as yiu rested your head on the desk waiting for your teacher to arrive.

"alright class! welcome our new student!" new student? why are we getting new students at this time of the school year? you snapped your head up to look at the front of class. 

there stood this guy, you weren't going to lie...he was very attractive.  he gave a small smile and waved his hand slightly as his eyes scanned across the room, then they fall on you and then avert. you heard that stupid dinging noise again and just closed your eyes, hoping it stops soon.

"ok sean you can go and sit next to y/n. y/n dear please wave your hand so sean can see you" of course, with the few available seats he had to get put right next to me. you raise your hand and he makes his way over to you and takes a seat, quickly glancing at you and then back to the front of class.

"ok class, you all know what you are doing with these projects so we shall not waste anymore time...straight to it!" the teacher exclaims, having way too much energy for 9 in the morning.

just as you were getting sorted, emma walked up to your desk.
'not this bitch again' you thought
"heyy! im emma!" she said, placing her hands on sean's desk, slightly leaning down. you rolled your eyes and went back to your project.
"sean!"
*ding* 'FUCK OFF PLEASE' you thought
"just a word of advice.." she paused "you got seated next to the freak..." this cause you to look up at her and narrow your eyes, glaring. if looks could kill... "you should avoid her.."
sean looked very confused to say the least
"freak?" he blinked and looked at you
"yup... the freak who never smiles.." she cackled, looking at her friends for her 'oh so needed approval'
"never?"
"mhm" your eyes glared holes through her head while sean smiled at you
*ding* you held your head in your hands praying that it goes away
"anyways, we're in the middle of a group project and if you need a group-" you blocked out her blabbering and looked at sean, who looked you up and down with a stupid smirk on his face.
'gross' you thought as he stood up and went to ask the teacher something.

about a minute later he returned. he turned towards you, causing you to look at him with an eyebrow raised.
"nice to meet you, i'm sean" he said as he held his hand out.
"d-do you need something?" you were very confused to say the least. he dropped his hand.
"well, i heard there was a group project going on and i was wondering if i could join yours?"
"why mine...?" you asked
"cause you sit next to me!"
"um.. i don't know-" no ones ever wanted to be partnered up with you, this was very new.
"is this the sign up sheet?" he glanced at the paper sitting in between your desks
"yes? but... wait!-"
"i'm going to borrow this!" he grabbed the pen out of your hand
"wait! but..."
"you needed a group member right? it's a win-win" he smiled.
*ding* you winced and he suddenly grew worried
"are you okay?" he asked
"yeah yeah i'm fine it's just my soulmate smiled for what seems like the millionth time today and i'm just sick of hearing this stupid sound"
"seems like a happy guy don't you think" he laughed again causing you to hear it again. wait... it couldn't be? right?
"i guess-"
"well at least can hear it, my soulmate's never smiled. i honestly think she might be dead at this point"
but i couldn't be? could i?
"sean?"
"yeah?"
"could you smil- could you pass me the scissors next to you please." you can't just ask him to smile for you. how embarrassing. he passed you the scissors as you explained the project.

it had been about 2 weeks since sean transferred to your school and the project was due in two days. you were sat on the floor of sean's bedroom trying to add some finishing touches to it.

over the past two weeks you and sean grew a friendship, a weird one to say the least as it mainly consisted of him smiling and laughing while you tried your hardest not to smile. but after every time sean had a smile on his face, the numbers went up. there was no way that sean wasn't your soulmate. you knew he was yours but you weren't too sure if he knew. you wanted to talk to him about it but you were scared.

"uh sean, can i talk to you about something..."
"yeah what's up" he sat down next to you
"i think we are soulmates." you blurted, closing your eyes instantly regretting it
"how so?"
"well, don't you think it's weird that your soulmate has never smiled, and neither have i?" he nodded
"and every time you smile, i get that ringing noise..." he nodded again, slowly understanding. "i can smile for you if you want and see whether you hear it"

and so you did, you smiled. it was the weirdest feeling, but it felt nice. now realising why he does it so much. you watched as sean's eyes lit up

"i heard it! y/n i heard it!" he smiled so big, and you now heard the ding.
"me too!" you smiled again, making him smile even wider.
"i wanted to tell you something too.." he grabbed your hand, intertwining your fingers "i was gonna tell you that i had feeling for you and well, now seems like the perfect opportunity to tell you that i have feelings for you."

you smiled again, removing your hands from his and placed them around his neck. slowly pulling him into you as you kissed him. both of you smiling into the kiss as you heard the ding.

but surprisingly now, it didnt make you want to scream but rather made you smile in return.
