#pov: a brother sticks up for his little sister who's tired of their mother's strict rules to be a "perfect" daughter...

flashback

"mum i know what i want to be when i'm older!" you squeal happily as you run towards your mother.
"what is it sweetie" she strokes your head
"a model!" your 8 year old self smiles widely
"bub, you cant."
"why not" you pout
"you're not cover girl material hunny"

present

that moment stuck with you. here you are, 16 years old still trying to become a model. but as you grew older and wanted to become a model more and more, your mother got more and more strict. no snacking, limited portions, only eating a meal a day. you were sat in your room, starving, but you couldn't eat. you got up and walked towards your older brothers room.

knock knock
"sean?" you knock again. he opens the door and smiles, but it immediately falls when he sees the tears in your eyes.
"hey hey hey, what's up?" he drags you into his room, forcing you to sit on his bed.
"i-i cant do it anymore sean"
"do what?" he kneels eye level to you
"i cant be wishing to be something i can never be. i should be thinking of doing something more realistic..." you sob into your hands, sean gets up and sits next to you, placing a comforting arm around your shoulder
"you can do this, but starving yourself isn't the way to do that. you're just hurting yourself y/n"
"i know, but i need to lose more weight sean...i just cant do it with mum pressuring me to be this 'perfect' daughter for her"
"DINNERS READY" your mum yells from downstairs
"c'mon let's go eat dinner" he ushers you out the door

as you are all sat at the table eating dinner, you were the only one without a plate in front of them. sean looked over at yiu with sadness in his eyes.
"mum.." he starts
"yes dear?"
"why is y/n not eating?"
"she has dreams to be an envy.." she looks back down at her plate, spinning pasta around her fork
"so she's...starving..?" the rage slowly growing in him, as he looks at her in disbelief.
"you know covergirls eat nothing.." she puts her fork down, getting annoyed at sean. "...beauty is pain"
"and there's beauty in EVERYTHING!" his eyes widen at his mother's words
"what's a little bit of hunger?" his eyes sink, as he grows sad thinking about what his little sister has to go through
"i-i" he starts. you see him and your mother getting frustrated at each other so you barge in
"i can go a little while longer.." this causes sean to shake his head at you, and his head whips back to your mum
"she fades away..." he begs "she don't see her perfect.." he looks at you with so much love and sadness "she don't understand she's worth it...or that beauty goes deeper than the surface" you start crying over your brothers words. you never realised how much he worried about you.
"oh?" your mum puts her fork down again and stares at the both of you, guilt slowly washing over her"
"OH?!" sean raises his voice
"is something wrong..." you ask timidly, scared to aggravate anyone more
"let me be your mirror...help you see a little bit clearer" he says to you, making you tear up more "the light that shines within" he looks at your mum, then gets up "come on" he grabs a plate for you and dishes out some food, and dragging you into his room
"sean i shouldn't-"
"no you're eating now, you're not leaving until i see you eat the whole plate"
"fine, but you didn't need to do that out there, it's just mum i could have talked to her"
"yeah but how did that go last time! she's still starving you y/n i'm worried about you."
"you don't understand how grateful i am to have a brother like you.."
"it's my job to look after you, you are my little sister.."
