23-Meeting The Kenneths

To say I was nervous would be an understatement. 

Tonight we were headed to Cole's house for thanksgiving. 

I was utterly terrified of making a bad first impression. Cole told me they should be fine but by the stories he's told me about Haley, I am worried she might hate me. 

Heck I am dating the guy she despises. I really don't get why she thinks he made a mistake not going to college. 

I mean gosh let him live. 

Anyway I am walking in with an opinion about her and that is never good. 

That always leads to bad, bad news. 

Since I was already on edge I made a plan. 

-Introduce myself

-Only speak if someone asks me a question

-Be polite no matter what(that was a big one)

-Bite my tongue if Haley gives her two cents. 

-Think about Cole in all of this(Another big one)

I needed to make sure I didn't mess up anything for Cole. This is his family we're talking about, I can't cause something between them. 

Which is why I did not ask Bailey for advice. Don't get me wrong I love that girl to death but she does not know how to keep her opinions to herself. 

Usually that's a good thing but not in this situation.

The only thing I was thinking about to keep my mind of meeting his step mom and dad, was the fact Cal was flying in tomorrow. 

I really did miss him.

I kept the dress I would be wearing tonight simple. Jasmine had told me to wear green since it brought out my eyes, so that's what I am doing. 

The dress is emerald green and it's super flowy. The dress ends mid thigh and has short sleeves.

I straighten my hair for the occasion as well, cause why not?

My phone buzzes, and Cole let's me know he's on his way. 

Grabbing my phone I do one last check in the mirror. 

My hair and outfit look good. 

I get into Coles car and we begin the trip to his house. 

"You look pretty." He says and I smile, "So do you."

He's wearing cuffed jeans, and a black sweater. 

"Is there anything I should be prepared for? Any topic I shouldn't talk about?" I ask. I really want to make a good first impression. 

Cole shrugs, "Nothing much, just don't bring up your distaste for Luke and everything will be ok."

"Well I knew not to bring that up, I will be the perfect lady today." I say doing a seated curtsy. Cole just laughs at me. 

As we drive listening to music the nerves intensify. 

"What if they don't like me?" I ask.

"Then they don't like you." Cole responds cooly. 

My jaw drops and he turns to look at me, "It's the truth. Haley doesn't like me and im her husbands son. I love you shortcake but I can't promise she'll like you. My dad on the other hand I know will, same with Amber."

That's when it hits me. What if Amber remembers me from the party? 

"I need to confess something." I say biting my bottom lip, "I already met Amber..at a frat party." I say the rest lowly.
