Kurumi was out in the park with Kuroo as they waited for the count down to happen.
"Are you excited about the fireworks?" Kuroo asked as he stroke her hair.
She nodded her head excitedly as she leaned her head to his shoulder. He continued to stroke her hair until the countdown began.
"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Both of them yelled at the same time with a grin displayed on their faces.
"I'm happy that I get to start the new year with you by my side. I love you," Kuroo said before giving her a gentle peck on her forehead.
She buried her face at the crook of her neck and mumbled, "I'm happy, too. I love you."
Then the fireworks began to shoot up the sky.
"Tetsu!" She yelled as she stared at the fireworks in amazement. "It's so colourful and beautiful."
Kuroo stared at her side view. "It's indeed beautiful."
She glanced at him and blushed. "Y-Yeah, the fireworks are really pretty."
He smirked at her words. "Oya? I meant you. Nothing can be prettier than you."
"Tetsu! Don't suddenly say something like that!" She yelled as she covered her face with her hands.
Kuroo laughed as he watched her reaction. He couldn't believe that he could call someone like her as his. He was surely a lucky person.
"You're made of oxygen and neon, right? Because you're definitely the ONe," Kuroo smiled.
Kurumi peeked out behind her hands with a laugh. "Tetsu! You and your random pick-up lines!"
Kuroo hugged her tightly as he laughed along with her. "But you love them!"
She nodded with a laugh.

Kurumi was feeling nervous that her hands were trembling. Kuroo saw this and tried to calm her down. "Hey, Kitten."
When she glanced at him in question, he smirked. "Your PH must be 14 because you're the most basic need in my life right now."
She stopped trembling and laughed in glee. "That was so random!"
"But you are not nervous anymore~"
Her eyes widened in realization. "H-How?"
Kuroo just grinned. "Don't be nervous. Just trust us."
She nodded with a smile.

The team began to warm up to get ready for their match. Everyone had determination displayed in their eyes. Before it was their turn, Kuroo grinned and tapped his cheek. "Give me a good luck charm."
"Good luck charm?" Kurumi asked in confusion.
"Give me a kiss~" He gave a teasing grin.
She turned pink as she froze on the spot. He chuckled at her reaction and ruffled her hair. "I was joking."
He was about to head to the other members when Kurumi grabbed his hand. He looked turned back as he glanced at her hands tightly holding onto his. He was about to ask what was the matter until she tiptoed and gave him a quick peck on the cheek.
"G-Good luck..." she mumbled before letting go of his hand.
Kuroo felt his lips tugging upwards. He gave her a quick peck on her cheek as well before walking off.
"Seriously, can you guys take that outside or at least when we are not about to have a match?" Yaku sighed.
"You're just jealous~" Kuroo grinned.

They have lost, but there was not a single regret in him. He was satisfied to be able to achieve his goal before he graduates.
"Thank you for introducing me to volleyball, Kuroo," he heard Kenma speak.
He stared at him with wide eyes as he did not expect Kenma to say that. However, just by those words, the guilt that he was feeling for dragging Kenma all disappeared as he grinned in happiness.
