Cha. 12 activities

It only took us about 2 minutes walking, until we reached a big campfire with about 10 students around it from our class. Including Niki, Karl and Nick.

"There you guys are, sit down were telling scary stories and eating marshmellows" Karl whispered to us as he pulled us down next to them.

I was mostly quiet the first 30 minutes. Karl and Nick had left because both got tired and suddenly a bunch of girls came from the path that lead to the campfire and started giggling when they found Clay.

Obviously the others from the class got mad at them for interupting the horror story a person was telling, and guess what.

Clay had to leave because the girls wouldn't leave if he didn't come with them. And now I was here alone with Niki sleeping, not wanting to leave her alone here for the night with people we both haven't talked to at all.

I was akwardly silent because I didn't know anyone else here.

I tried waking up Niki quietly by poking her shoulders a few times and I was lucky she did.

"Hmm?" she hummed looking up at me while I signaled with a look that I wanted to leave.

Since she was still half asleep, she just gave a confoused back. I stood up and tried pulling her up, having to basically drag her out of there.

"Hey new kid!" I heard someone say before I got the chance to get out of there.

I stopped and turned back as they started talking again. "Already leaving hmm? And with a girl" everyone smirked as they turned their attention to me and Niki. I got really uncomfortable in that position.

Idiots don't know i'm literally gay

I already have guessed by now that a lot of people in this school seems homophobic, since even Karl and Nick don't wanna come out with their relationship because of that just proves my point.

I ignored them and hurried walking tru the path and to the cabins. "What's your cabin number?" I asked as she was still half asleep, using my arm as support.

"Hmmm.. 9" she said quietly as I spenat like 15 minutes in the dark trying to find the right cabin.

I saw a text from Clay, asking where I was and if I was okay. I didn't get time to respond as my phone died from 1% the minute I started typing.

"Okay you have to go inside now by your own, i'm not allowed in the girls cabin" I said as I let go of her and tried finding my own cabin for another 10 minutes.

Jeez I should've atleast brought a flashlight..

I opened the door slowly to try to not make any noises, right as I got inside and closed the door behind me, I felt someone hug me from behind in the dark.

"George" Someone whispered into my ear. I could feel the breaths on my neck, making me feel a slight shiver in my spine.

"Are you okay? I'm sorry I had to leave.. those girl wouldn't leave and I had to go hide in here until they would go away and now I feel like a horrible person for leaving you there" he whispered to my ear from behind me as I heard a little guilt in his voice.

"It's okay Clay, i'm fine. And plus, I think you're an amazing friend it's not your fault" I whispered back as I turned around to face him.

I leaned over his shoulder to check if Karl and Nick had gone to bed yet. And they were sleeping peacefully like I thought.

"I'm tired" I said after and looked back up to him as I hugged him back.

"Mhm me too, goodnight.."

I woke up from the pe teacher brusting in 8 am in the morning. "Wake up kids were doing activites today, no being lazy. Eat breakfast and then go outside for information of todays activity" he yelled before heading out again.

"What the hell?" Nick said as Clay groaned from being woken up so early.

I yawned as I almost fell down the ladder from trying to climb down the bed, still being half asleep.

"Anyone else have a clue about today?" I asked as everyone got dressed.

Karl nodded at my question before he started speaking "something about canoeing I think I heard the teachers talk about yesterday evening when we got here"

We left the cabin and went to a small building next to the cabins, that had a cafeteria, kitchen that only the teachers were allowed in, and bathrooms.

We finished eating quickly before heading out, and towards the class that stood in a big group around the teachers. "Okay so if anyone haven't heard what were doing yet" the teacher started.

"Everyone will compete at the lake with the goup you share cabin with. And so you will paddle from the canoe pier/bridge by the lake and to the other side, since the lake is big enough. At the other side of the lake is a forest that you will get a treasure map to. First team that reaches the other side of the lake and finds the hidden treasure, using the map will get a point"

(A canoe is like a boat. 🛶 <-this boat if you recognise)

Everyone started heading towards the lake that you could already see from here now in the daylight.

"Every go get in a canoe that is already lined up at the start" the teacher said as we reached the lake.

"And becareful that you don't get lost, the forest is pretty big"

We found a canoe that was avaible. Just as the teacher shouted "go!" everyone started paddling before I could even react.

Lucky us, we were the second team that reached the other side of the lake, and which gave us advantage of winning.

"Since we got two maps, should we split up? It'll be faster finding it" Karl said.

"Okay, so you guys go right and we go left then" he added after everyone nodded. I gripped Clays hand as we started sprinting the other way and into the big forest.

20 minutes passed and nothing.

Then 50 minutes passed and we hadn't found anything as we had just gotten deeper in the woods. "Clay.. Are you sure we are at the right spot?" I finally asked, turning around.

He wasn't behind me anymore like he was 10 minutes ago. I looked around with no sight of him and being in the middle of nowhere deep in the forest.

"Clay?!"
