[24] "Find a guy that doesn't have the last name Coleman."

Jayda roamed the senior hall until she found the curly haired girl she was chasing after. When she saw Nevaeh's head poking out of the locker, she took a deep breath and approached.

"Vay, listen I'm sorry for how everything transpired on Saturday. I let my ongoing feud with my cousins' cloud my judgment. The last thing I wanted was for all the fighting and drama to occur, it wasn't my intention and I'm hoping I can fix it...." she exhaled as she finished.

When she didn't get an answer, Jayda started to have some anxiety. She really cared for Nevaeh and didn't want to lose her friendship.

"Vay? Did you hear me? I said I was sorry. I promise to never be a bitch to you again, only to the people I really dislike."

The response was muffled. "Jayda, I'm not in the mood to talk."

After a second, Jayda realized that Nevaeh was crying. She placed a hand on her shoulder. "You okay?"

Nevaeh wiped her eyes. She turned to Jayda and gave her a small smile. "No."

Before Jayda could respond, Nevaeh shut her locker and took off towards the exit of the building leaving her pondering. "What in the world?" Jayda whispered out loud.

She wandered down the hall and saw Teddy coming out of the boy's bathroom. His expression was the complete opposite of Nevaeh's. It was hard and rigid. In her opinion, Jayda that he looked deep in thought with an underlying tone of anger seeping out.

"Teddy, I just saw Nevaeh and she was upset. Do you know what's up with her?"

Teddy shook his head. "She's not my concern anymore, ask Sammie," he stated moving around her and going down the hall.

Jayda stood in the hall confused. "What in the hell is going on?" She reached for her phone and came up empty handed. "Damn it!" she exclaimed realizing that her parents had it. "This is some bull shit."

She continued to mumble her strong dislike for her parents as she walked into class. Her car....gone. Her cell phone...gone. Shit, at the moment she didn't even have a bedroom door. Her dad, Jonathan took it off the hinges last night. She was in a pissy mood and it showed.

"You're late."

Jayda gave Mr. Black a thumbs up as she walked passed his desk. She wanted to give him a middle finger but realized that she couldn't afford to get into any additional trouble. Her parents would probably take her bed away next and have her ass sleeping on the floor.

She sat in her seat and looked to her left. "Hey." She did a double take when she saw a different Desiree sitting there. She was already pretty but with makeup and contacts instead glasses, she was gorgeous. Jayda noticed how the boys were staring at Desiree like they were dogs in heat.

Jayda ignored Mr. Black while he lectured. "You're looking extra dandy today. Did your parents get their taxes early and take you shopping?" She laughed at her own joke expecting Desiree to join in.

She didn't respond. Desiree ignored Jayda and continued writing down notes.

Aint this some shit. Jayda sniffed her breath to make sure it didn't stink. Was it everybody hate Jayda day? She tried to compliment Desiree. "You look good, I like the new clothes," she whispered.

Still nothing.

"Well forget you too." Jayda started to pay attention to Mr. Black. 15 minutes later, he paired Jayda and Desiree together for an assignment. Desiree still wouldn't talk to her.
