"You what? Why?" I said, putting a hand up to my lips.
"Few reasons. One, we've not been working out lately. Two, she's cheating on me with this Oakwood guy behind my back, and I found that out last night from a belligerently drunk Darla."
Darla, are you kidding? We all promised we wouldn't say anything.
Flashback (One month ago)
The girls and I went to a house party that Simone told us about. After Kaye, Shavonne, and I saw her making out with some guy, we practically pulled her off of him, and we drove home.
We didn't say anything during the car ride home, but the minute we got to Jodi's house, the interrogation began.
"Who was that guy?" Darla said.
"Ok, let me explain," Simone said, "His name is Adam. I met him through a friend, and yes, we've made out twice before last night, but that's it."
"Are you serious, Simone? You're cheating on Pink?" I said.
"No. I didn't fully cheat, at least."
"Girl, kissing is almost worse than fucking!" Shavonne said, "It's way more intimate. Are you planning on telling him?!"
"I will," She said, "Just please don't tell Pink. I want him to hear it from me."
End of flashback
Well, I don't think Simone's going to be talking to Darla any time soon.
"Three? Well, uh. I may or may not have also made out with Jodi last night."
My eyes widened, and then I started laughing.
"So, that explains the awkwardness between you two this morning?" I said.
Pink shrugged his shoulders and resumed driving.
"Ok. Are you and Jodi going to be an item now?"
Pink clicked his tongue, "I'm not sure. I was drunk but sober enough to know what I was doing. Jodi's cute and all, but she's not really- you know."
"No, I get it," I said as we pulled into the driveway. We went inside and upstairs into his room.
"Alright, I'm gonna hop in the shower. Make yourself at home. If you want something to eat or drink, go ahead," he said, throwing his violet top on the bed and heading towards the bathroom.
I lay on his bed and grabbed the top. I brought it up to my nose and inhaled. It smelled a bit like beer but a lot like Pink's cologne. I loved the smell and how safe it made me feel. It was weird to explain, but it made me feel sheltered and grounded.
After a few minutes of laying on his bed and staring at the ceiling, I got up and decided to get a glass of water. When I finished putting ice cubes in, I went back to his room.
Pink had a towel wrapped around his body, and his wet hair clung to his neck.
"Geez, don't stare. Don't you have a boyfriend?" Pink said sarcastically.
I threw a pillow at him, "I wasn't staring, and yes. I do have a boyfriend. I saw him this morning, and fucking O'Bannion walked in on us."
His eyes widened, "He walked in on you two fucking?!"
"No, we were just sleeping, but I was in my bra."
"I remember when Slater and Don walked by Benny's room, and Don wouldn't shut up about how loud you two were, especially you," Pink said, putting his jeans on.
"Oh, god. And then Slater made the joke that we were going at it so hard that the entire house shook," I said, making myself laugh in the process of remembering.
"Now that was funny," he laughed.
"You going to Benny's house party?" I said.
"Yea. I don't have a date, though."
I scoffed, "Who said you needed one? Besides, why don't you ask Jodi?"
"I might. It's like I was going to say. She's not girlfriend material."
"And why is that?"
"She's just too intense for me, you know?" Pink explained, "I need someone who's more chill. Someone who can relate to me."
I nodded. I wasn't going to lie when I say I was a little jealous when I found out they made out. But why should I have been jealous? I had a boyfriend. I was happy. Everything was going great. I shouldn't let a minor thing I had for Pink get in the middle of things.
