Xingqiu POV:
I was sitting at my desk as usual, writing down ideas for my next novel during lunch break, when a strange girl approached me. She wore the girls' uniform, but with a black jacket over it, with a silver badge that read "Student Council". She had long chocolate brown hair and ruby red eyes that sparkled as she looked at me. She slowly came up to me.
"Master Xingqiu! What are you writing about this time. Maybe I, Hu Tao can help?" the girl said cheerfully, sitting down at the desk beside me, twiddling her fingers in a way that could almost be considered crazy.
"Tao? Thats a strange name for a girl." I remarked. Tao giggled and waved her hands in front of her face.
"No, no, Master Xingqiu! My name is both Hu and Tao! Hu Tao! Oooh, I thought of a really nice name for our joint unit! Hu is the Qiu Tao? Isn't it amazing?" the girl giggled with neverending energy. It was as if she didn't have a care in the world.
"So, coming to your novels, Master Xingqiu, are you writing a thriller or a ghost story? Want me to tell you some stories to inspire you? I assure you they're all real!" Hu Tao's eyes sparkled even more as she said this, followed by another one of her creepy giggled. Now I remembered who she was. She was Hu Tao, the president and only member of the occult club. Everyone had left the occult club due to her, saying she was way too eccentric or scary. She could allegedly see ghosts and vengeful spirits, and the only reason why she was in the student council was to prevent her from meeting other students and occupy her with work. Not that she knew of it. Or would ever know, for that matter.
"I'm writing a story dealing with depression right now." I replied. I usually used things that had happened to me to write my stories. And my depression period had become something of a study for me so I could write about it better. Not that it hurt any less though. Nor was it a joke. The girl seemed disappointed.
"Well, Hu Tao, can you tell me why your club members left? Maybe that could give me an idea." I lied, just to satisfy my curiosity. A very bad thing, but I guess being a liar was in my soul.
"Sure, Master Xingqiu!" Hu Tao said enthusiastically.
Hu Tao flashback:
"Now, now, everyone, step away from that thing!" Hu Tao tried to stop Voldemort and Hagrid from removing the seal around a coffin she'd brought from her home for them to study. She worked in a funeral parlor as a director, and it was the very place that she lived in. She didn't even need to go to school, but everyone insisted she did. She giggled as they removed the seal, then paled in fear at the spirit of the woman who slowly slid out of the coffin and focused her bloodshot eyes on them. Hu Tao placed her mouth on Hagrid and Voldemort's mouths so no one would hear their screams, then let go once they had calmed down.
"Yahoo!" Hu Tao waved at the ghost who rolled her eyes and obediently went back into the coffin. Hu Tao smiled at the coffin then turned back to Voldemort and Hagrid.
"Y-y-you crazy b*tch! Why did you bring a real ghost here! We could have died!" Voldemort shouted. Hu Tao patted their heads while giggling.
"Death comes sooner or later! And, if you want, I can have a custom coffin made for you! And if both you and your friend participate, two clients half price!" she mentioned the small advertisement she always made. For some reason, their eyes grew wide in fear and they ran away, never to be seen again.
Hu Tao flashback end-
"And thats what happened!" Hu Tao finished cheerfully as I felt a chill go down my spine at the mention of ghosts. But well, the only thing they could do was kill or torture me, and I didn't care about that.
"So, Master Xingqiu, did you get an idea?" Hu Tao asked enthusiastically, eyes sparkling like a child's. I cracked a fake smile at her, but to be honest, maybe I wasn't. Her laughter and smiles were contagious, and maybe this was slowly affecting me as well.
"Yes. Thank you, Hu Tao." I replied and she nodded while giggling before waving and dashing out of the classroom. She was said to be scary, but oddly, Xingqiu felt nothing like that at all.
