Chapter 20: His Jealousy

"WAIT WHO'S GOING OUT WITH PRESIDENT KAZUHA?!" Xiangling yelled in disbelief. The students sweatdropped at the food loving girl with her teddy bear.

"Lumine." Xingqiu replied. Xiangling scowled at him. How was that girl going out with the most popular guy in the school? She looked at Childe, who was another of Lumine's abandoned friends. Lumine had asked to have her seat changed after the school trip. Probably a rejection or something, but it didn't justify leaving him. He looked awfully depressed and had dark circles under his eyes, as if he hadn't slept for weeks. Even his bubbly nature had darkened.

Curse that Lumine.

Lumine POV:

I hummed to myself as I lifted some books off the teacher's table. Kazuha stood at the doorway, and lifted some books off my hands as I approached him. I pouted. "Thats supposed to be my work, dear President."

"And now, its mine." he flashed one of his angelic signature smiles. I pouted one more time and pressed my  lips against his cheeks. His cheeks turned a dark red, and he stopped teasing or talking altogether. I chuckled lightly and continued on my way, with a blushing Kazuha behind me. He'd tried to be like one of those unaffected guys in shoujo manga, but in the end, he was Kazuha.

We carried the books to Ningguang's office then headed back to the student council office. I held Kazuha's hand in mine, who was blushing furiously, but by the time we had arrived at the student council office, he'd managed to fix his expression.

"Well, well, the couple's here." Ayaka teased. I laughed at her comment while Kazuha just gave a light chuckle and headed to his desk. I brought Kazuha's office pen and the documents he needed for today to his table, and set them down. I sat down at another desk, typing away some of the festival committee work on one of the computers. The assistants would mainly take care of the festival work this year, and I'd been assigned to a pretty important part of it. I'd work the hardest I could on it, also so that I could attend the festival with Kazuha. A festival date would be the best thing ever.

"EVERYONE'S GETTING GIRLFRIENDS BEFORE ME!" Lulu shouted and Ayaka glared menacingly at him.

"Maybe if you actually focused on work, you would have one too." Ayaka snapped at him. It was very rare for her to do so, and it was usually Lulu on the receiving end.

"Lets work hard for this festival!" Hu Tao yelled energetically.

Childe POV:

A raging fire was building in my chest everytime I heard they were together. She'd already forgotten about me. The fault was all mine, but did she even know that I'd been ordered to kill her? Of course she didn't. She didn't know anything of my pain. But well, shadows can never grasp the light. It'd already been painful enough to learn they were going out, but to see them so openly holding hands, and to see her kissing him, was something I'd hoped I'd never have to see. My heart clenched painfully at the sight, and it felt as if my entire world had broken.

My light was gone forever.

"He's taken enough time. Bring him and the girl here, and let the hunt begin." Signora ordered, a wide smile on her lips. Yes, it was tonight, that the fun would truly begin.
