I sat in the living room of the cottage beside Childe who was seated near Xiao, playing Zenshin Impact with him. The two were controlling their characters and fighting a huge dinosaur boss.
"CAN YOU STOP DYING WE'LL NOT EVEN GET 1K POINTS IN THIS EVENT. ALSO YOUR Y/N (your name) IS WEAK." Xiao yelled. It was an unusually loud display of tone from the usually introverted edgy boy.
"Your G/N is good only because you have the BiS weapon for him. I don't have that luck and I want to stay F2P in this account." Childe countered. Xiao widened his eyes.
"You have a whale account?" he asked.
"Yup. I have all the five stars at C6 and all the weapons at r5. Bored of it, so I started an F2P account." Childe said. Xiao's eyes widened further and then he shut up. I didn't get any of this, but apparently Childe having these things was a pretty big deal.
"You guys play Zenshin? Me too!" Yoimiya dashed towards them and leaned over their shoulders to peek in at what they were doing. "Lemme do the event with you!" she beamed.
"Fine." Xiao scowled and went outside the 'event domain' to add Yoimiya. I looked away, bored. I reached for my own phone and plugged in earphones, starting to watch Naruto.

It had been a long time, like four hours at least. We were called outside to eat dinner. Zhongli and Ningguang had prepared BBQ and Chinese style noodles. Childe's hands trembled as he held the chopsticks awkwardly.
"Need me to teach you, damsel in distress?" I teased. Childe grinned nervously at me before shaking his head.
"I'll master it on my own." he said confidently. I rolled my eyes and picked up a piece of meat with chopsticks, lifting it to my mouth. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Hu Tao dragging Xingqiu away.
Xingqiu POV:
"Hu Tao, what-" I started to question but the eccentric girl put a delicate finger on my lips then giggled.
"Master Xingqiu, no, Xingqiu, I- ever since I read your books, I've started liking you. And till this day, my love remains. Will you go out with me?" she asked, beaming. I felt my chest grow heavy as I patted her head.
"Hu Tao, I know you've known Chongyun since childhood, but I haven't. I already messed up everything with the girl that I loved, and I don't think I can settle for anyone else. I'm sorry. I can't go out with you." I tried to reject her as nicely as I could. Her face looked crestfallen as she turned back to where everyone was having BBQ, avoiding my gaze.
Chongyun POV:
"Hu guî? What happened?" I wiped away the tears of the depressed girl in front of me. She sniffed as she tried to say the words. She looked as if her life had been shattered. Hu Tao had always been smiling for as long as I'd known and for her to be like this was . . . really unpleasant and shocking.
"Chongyun, he-he rejected me." she sobbed into my chest. Ah. I'd expected him to do that. Xingqiu had been a reason why Lumine had distanced herself and then he'd distanced himself from me. It was unlikely for him to say 'yes'.
"Just because he said no right now doesn't mean its all ended. There's always next time. Cheer up, Hu guî." I smiled at her as she wiped away her tears, flashed an innocent smile and said,"Yeah!"
