Hi!
I have a little disclaimer below so you can read it if you'd like :)
(A major part of the book is that Nate struggles with his identity and who he is as a person. A major reason for this is because of his upbringing and because of the media along with his status. A question he is frequently asked is about his sexuality and I know it's very repetitive, but throughout the story, you'll see how he becomes more secure in who he is.
Additionally, Brad and Nate having slept together years ago does not have anything to do with the media asking Nate about his sexuality. The media does not know, they just assume he might be bisexual and or gay because of his eyeliner and nail polish which is a very common thing for rockers to have. Nate isn't very feminine but mixed with the Brad stuff it causes him to freak out. Along with his issues with his father it all just causes him to panic.
Along with that, the only ones who know about what Nate and Brad did are the two bands, Bloodline, and Devils Spawn, and now Aubrey but she hasn't told Nate she knows yet!
Any questions about this let me know! Sorry if I did a poor job explaining LOL)
And I don't typically do TW's because everything that should be a TW is in the description of the story, however I just wanted to let you guys know that there is homophobia in the chapter!!Alright, hope you guys like this somewhat stressful chapter...
Nate's Point of View:
"Your headphones are hurting my head." I laughed, complaining over the bulky headphones that were given to us all by the radio show.
I carefully tried to put them on so I wouldn't mess up my hair that had been done by a stylist.
It takes a long time to do my hair. Normally when I do it, I can do it under a minute or two, but when we're out and about and we get styled by these stylists, they take forever to do my hair. Like obviously I'm grateful that there are even people that are hired to make me look good, it's just so much hairspray and gel and this and that. It makes my head hurt, along with these irritating headphones.
"Here." Brendan offered.
He helped me to get the unnecessary bulky headphones on and over my head and ears correctly.
"Welcome to BBC Radio 1!"
I blinked.
"Thank you for having us." Jackson replied politely as I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, bringing my hands up to adjust the headphones a little more.
Media.
Something that gets very tiring and is- I mean there's no other way to put it.
It's just entirely exhausting.
Not only is it exhausting, it's fucking annoying. I mean look I get it we're a band, we need to put out content for our loyal and dedicated fans, but it's so tiring, most of the time stupid, and very repetitive. I mean imagine performing 3-5 nights a week in front of thousands of fans, flying to different countries, driving long drives, not getting more than 5 hours of sleep most nights, and then being forced to sit in a chair for an hour, while some guy mocks you for wearing eyeliner when you perform.
One day I'm seriously going to snap.
"Bloodline. What a band." Carl the radio host said.
He sounded as if he was in awe while he stared at us and leaned back in his swivel chair. He chewed on his pen while he looked over at us with cautious grey eyes and a tight lipped smile.
