Hi friends!
Yeah so that last chapter was kind of crazy LMAO, I hope you like this one though
Aubrey's Point of View:
Maybe it's the alcohol, or maybe it's the pent up frustration...
But smearing my- when I- rubbing it-... doing what I did, to Valentine Carons face was something I never envisioned doing on a night like tonight.
Or well, ever actually.
My heart is pounding as I hurriedly walk out of the bathroom, my smile fading and guilt taking over as Nate and I walk arm in arm. He's taller than me so his regular steps keep up just fine with my hurried ones. I don't know if he realizes that I feel stupid and crazy over the entire thing back there, but I really do.
I'm mostly shocked about Tahlia.
I'm trying really hard to put up this front that I'm not surprised about her, and that I've always thought of her to be conceited, but there was a time she really was my best friend. Maybe I never noticed her bad qualities because of how badly I wanted to be friends with her, but now I do. Now I do, and it hurts like a lot. I'm glad that I finally stood up for myself, but in the end, will it be worth it.
Is stooping to their level worth it?
"I can hear you thinking right now," Nate whispered into my ear, taking his arm out of mine and placing his hand on my hip. "If you're second guessing what you did, I wouldn't," He told me as I released a shaky breath.
He stopped us by turning me to face him, placing both of his hands on my hips and steadying me there. I looked up at him with wide eyes and let out another shaky breath. He placed both of his cold hands on my overheated cheeks and smiled fondly.
"What you did," He wavered, trying to think of what to say. "Was a bit extreme,"
I rolled my eyes, trying to walk away. "Not helpful,"
"But," He cut me off, laughing softly. "I think it was necessary." He nodded his head, now placing his hands on my shoulders. "They're mean girls, they shouldn't get to act however they want and not have karma hit them at least once," He shrugged as I bit down on my bottom lip.
I opened my mouth to reply but then closed it when I couldn't think of anything to say. "Hey, but actually Aubrey," He began as I swallowed. "You're the kindest human I've ever met in my life. It's who you are, you just exude kindness," He continued as I looked down. "It's important to be kind, but killing people with kindness isn't always the answer... take it from me," He shrugged as I smiled lightly.
I looked back up at him, meeting his gorgeous eyes. I shrugged "I mean, they kind of deserved it, didn't they,"
"Kind of?" He scrunched up his face. "100% baby," He said which made me laugh softly.
My stomach still rolled at the thought of what I had done. It was so disgusting, something that's so far beyond normal, so unlike me.
I guess I hadn't realized that Nate had leaned over the bar for a moment, and had pulled some cocktail out from the bartender. Nate handed it to me with a small smile, and I downed the entire thing in under eight seconds. I blinked a few times, placing the cocktail back on the table and shook my head a few times.
Now I feel better.
Nate laced his fingers with mine and looked down at me. "I have an idea," He announced as I peered up at him and then furrowed my brows.
