Hey guys!
This chapter is kind of short and is like a filler almost.
Anyways, hope you guys like it! :)
Aubrey's Point of View:
"God I'm so embarrassed Tahlia." I cringed quietly lightly as I looked down at my ring covered hands.
I began to play with the rings, sliding them on an off my slim fingers. My eyes examined all of them, studying the fine gold material. I would tend to do this out of a nervous habit, it gave me something to play with or a way to distract myself when I was anxious. I also do this with hair ties sometimes. I'm not typically an anxious person, but right now of course I am. I just humiliated myself the other night, so now I'm playing with my rings. Not knowing what else to do with myself.
"Hey." Tahlia said softly grabbing one of my hands with her own.
I looked up at her sweet dark eyes and gave her a soft smile.
"Don't be." she said before taking a breath and pausing.
"I don't think he meant to press you so much. I know that he was just teasing you." she said before adding. "If he knew what really happened, then he obviously wouldn't have said anything."
"The rest is typical Aubrey, you got flustered and you're clumsy." she shrugged as I moved her hand that was on top of mine.
I shook my head, still feeling like shit. I thought about last night and she was right. I'm extremely clumsy, even if I don't want to admit it's true.
Tahlia offered me a weak smile. I appreciated her efforts in trying to make me feel better. Even though it wasn't working all too well. I offered her a weak smile back and brought my lips to the straw. I then proceeded to sip on my ice cold smoothie, looking to the side as it traveled down my throat.
"Hey, seriously don't worry about it." she said as my eyes shot up to hers.
"Once we finish, we can go shopping. Like on a spree." she smiled. I smiled and shook my head softly.
"Okay?" she said, waiting for confirmation. She was babying me, and all I could do was nod my head.
We haven't seen the guys, well at least I haven't since the other night. I've been trying to avoid them, and just hoping that I won't run into any of them in the halls anytime soon. I don't think Tahlia has seen them either. If she had, she'd probably come running to me the moment after she hung out with them. It's been like a week since the incident, and I've been avoiding them at all costs.
"These fries are bomb." I told Tahlia, trying to get out of my own head.
I picked up the salty fry and plopped it into my mouth. I chewed on the greasy fry and raised my brows with a smile. I then picked up another fry and dipped it in my smoothie. I continued to do so, grinning in satisfaction. Joseph makes the best fries.
"They definitely are." Tahlia nodded in agreement as she did the same as I. Dipping some of the fries in her own smoothie.
I looked around at the crowded restaurant. I watched some people exchanging glances and then looking over at where Tahlia and I were sitting. I tried my best to ignore the staring because I just wanted to enjoy my food and talk to Tahlia. But it felt like the more I noticed people staring, more people started to stare.
I looked down at my basket full of fries and thought about the fact that I was papped leaving the restaurant the other night. Which was probably one of the reasons I was also being stared at. The photos, came out exactly how you'd expect them. Me walking out in a frenzy, hand above my eyes trying to prevent the flashes from blinding me, water on my shirt and pants.
