Kingdom of the Red Rose (Episode 33 of 62) Chapter Twelve: The Last Dance Before Death (Part 4 of 4)
"I have identified the second Demon," Haron said, "And you should have figured out his identity as well by now. Let this be a lesson to you. You cannot, should not, aim to save human lives. You should only try to secure their soul and safely escort them to the afterlife. Now stop blaming yourself and watch, try to discover who the second Demon is so you can protect the soul you are here to collect."
"Let my daughter go," Gloria pleaded.
"Don't worry, witch. Your daughter will shortly follow you to Hell. But first she will be cleansed in fire like you," Paul replied, the joy and ecstasy that overwhelmed him clear in his voice.
Gloria eventually passed out and Paul was about to throw Samantha into the fire when a woman stepped forward and grabbed Paul by the shoulder, "Paul, the girl is innocent, and you know it. We shouldn't burn the girl for her mother's sins."
"She's right Paul, let the girl go. She has family on the other side of the forest, maybe they can take care of her," another man from the crowd added.
"Have you all lost your mind?" Paul screamed, "She's a witch like her mother. If we let her go, she'll curse us all."
Samantha moved away from Paul and towards the fire, as much as the leash around her neck allowed her. She tried to reach her mother and kept pulling on the rope to release it from Paul's grip.
"Let her go, Paul," the man said sternly.
Paul released the rope and Samantha almost fell into the fire, but she managed to regain her balance before tipping over.
The black dog next to Paul attacked Samantha. He sank his teeth into her neck and fell into the fire with her. Samantha began to scream as the flames quickly consumed her. Everyone started screaming in panic and a couple of women ran towards the fire trying to pull Samantha out. But then they saw something they never believed to be possible. The dog was covered in flames but was still alive, he still moved and barked, keeping the women away.
"I told you she's a witch," Paul screamed, "Look at what she did to the dog. She turned it into a demon. Run for your lives!"
The crowd quickly dispersed into the forest and in a matter of seconds everyone disappeared. Only their screaming could be heard as they ran scared back to town.
"That dog is the Demon," Griffin said as he pulled out Emma, ready to attack, "It's the same dog that attacked Samantha in the forest. Gloria's hit would have killed a normal dog. That's how Paul tracked the girl and brought her back."
