Griffin was still alive, trying to reform a body and return.
"To be honest Michael, I was amazed by Griffin's determination, weren't you?" Gabriel rested against a tree with his spear leaning against his body.
Griffin's soul was chained to the ground in front of them.
Michael lay flat on the ground next to Gabriel and stared at the stars over Macceniom island; it was a calm night with a clear sky. Griffin's scythe was on the ground next to Michael's shield. "No, not really."
"What do you mean no? He must be the most powerful human soul I've ever come across. Did you ever look at his original mana measurements? He has more mana than I do. It's just that he could only access a fraction of it because he did not remember his previous life."
"He has more mana than any of us. All humans do."
Gabriel's spear fell down and bounced on the rocks, followed by his stutter, "Wh, wha, what? What do you mean, Michael?"
"You weren't around when me and Lucifer discovered the truth, but the human soul is the most powerful being of all."
"What? Are you serious?"
Michael leaned his head to one side, gave Gabriel a smile and nodded his head.
"You're telling me that Griffin is more powerful than you?" Gabriel never imagined he would utter such words.
"He can be more powerful than me, you, and Lucifer, combined."
"No way that's true. Does he have more mana than you?"
"According to his latest measurements he has more mana than me. Only by a little bit, but still more than me."
"And you say all souls have more mana than us?"
"No, but they can develop more mana than us. They have the potential to grow beyond anything we can imagine. Tell me Gabriel, has your mana pool ever increased? Even in the slightest?"
"No, it has always been the same. Why?"
"Because humans can increase their mana pool. They not only produce large amounts of mana, more than their limit, but they can also increase their maximum mana."
"To how much? What's their maximum?"
"That's just it. They don't seem to have a maximum. This is what Lucifer discovered and later told me. The human soul, unlike all other entities, has no limits."
