Reality
We walk back to the crash and I see the other car in the ditch opposite of our car. The car looks all too familiar. It's my mom's car. I look at Henry worried, then run to the car to see who was driving. I see my sister passed out at the driver seat with blood running down the part of her face I could see. The other half of her face was covered by the deployed airbag. "Chloe!" I scream. I pull her out of the car and hold her in my lap. Henry grabs his phone from his pocket and dials the police. I can't loose my sister. Not like this.
I hold Chloe checking if she is breathing, luckily, she is. I put my forehead against her, tears spilling from my face. One tear falls on her cheek, lighting up as it hits her. I notice and hold her cheek. What just happened? Why did it light up like that? Then, Chloe's eyes open. "Pierce?" She mumbles. "It's me, everything is going to be ok." I sob. She smiles up at me. As she does I see the blood disappear from her forehead. "Is she ok?" I hear Henry ask. I look back at him and smile. A sigh of relief leaves his mouth. "Thank goodness.' He says. Chloe stands as if nothing had happened. "Mom's going to kill me." Chloe says noticing the car. "I don't think that will be the first thing she notices. She'll be glad you're alive Chloe." I put my arm on her shoulder, comforting her. She smiles and nods. "I hope so."
The ambulance comes and checks on Chloe while some police and a fire truck Get the cars out of the ditch. I stand with Chloe as a medic checks up on her. "You seem to be just fine. Are you sure you were in the car?" The medic asks. "Yes ma'am, I was driving. She looks at Chloe confused. And notices neither Henry or I was injured either. "How are all of you not injured?" She asks, Standing up to face me. "There is no way this isn't staged. None of you are hurt, and both the cars are almost totaled. I need to know what actually happened." Henry looks at me concerned, almost as if he was asking -what are we gonna say-. I look to see Chloe confused. "Well here's the thing." I say as I walk towards the medic. I lay one finger on her forehead causing her brain to fill with the familiar brightness I see. I fill her mind with a fake story so she assumes us to be telling the truth. I release my finger from her and Chloe looks at me, more confused then ever. "What did you just do?" She asks. "I'll tell you later Chloe." I look back to see the brightness leaving the medic's eyes. "Sorry for being all jumpy on you three, I don't know what came over me just then. You're free to go kids."
after a few hours of talking, we walk the rest of the way to my house and plan on spending the night there. The sun had already started going down as we are leaving the crash site. I invited Henry to stay and he accepted. "Can you tell me what happened back there?" Chloe asks, obviously frustrated. "Chloe, it's hard to explain. Let me show you." I pull her into a close alleyway as Henry follows. Instead of fully explaining to her, I tap into her mind and give her the same knowledge as me. She deserves to know the truth about everything, Including our father.
As I release my finger from her forehead. As I do, the "familiar" Leaves her eyes as they return to her normal color. "You mean to tell me our father is a god?!" I cover her mouth. "Be quite Chloe!" I yell. I release my hand from her mouth as she speaks again. "And you have a fake reality that has pretty boy over here in it." I cover her mouth again as Henry looks at me with a shocked expression. "Chloe, I didn't tell him that yet." I remove my hand from her mouth again and slap the back of her head. "Asshole."
We start walking home again and Chloe walks ahead of us. She's angry that I smacked the back of her head. She'll get over it. Besides, with all the times she's slapped me, it's only fair. "So, um. What about that whole fake reality thing she said?" Henry asks. I look over to see him blushing. As we walk I explain to him about how I live in basically two different worlds. "Wow, that's really cool. May I ask, who am I in your reality." He looks excited as he asks. "Well Im guessing you already know with the Prince thing you said earlier." He giggles as I mention it. "Yeah, I just wanted to hear you explain it all. I already knew." I look at him confused. "How would you have already known?" I ask him, as i stop walking. He turns to me and holds my face. "Pierce, It's alot to take in. What you know about your reality is completely different from actuality." I'm even more confused now. "What do you mean?" I'm now concerned on what he means. "Well, your reality isn't personally made by you. It's a different Timeline of yourself. Some people I used to know would call each different one of you, a variant. There are infinite variants of you, and me. Except only few can switch from different timelines. Like you, and myself." I'm shocked by his words. "You can switch to?" I grab his hand off my face and hold it. "Yes, always have been able too. The only reason we switch to the same place, is because we both desire the same thing, our family." Before I could ask any further, Chloe yells at us to hurry up and she holds the door open to our house.
